Legit Italian bodega with everything from a superb deli and deli meats to the decorative walls and hot food; two meatballs and a sausage was $5, killer deal and a large sandwich was $13 with freshly sliced meats and a great staff. Only negative is the long wait .

Claros Italian Market was such a solid stop. First off, their grocery section is packed with authentic Italian goods and imported items that you just do not find everywhere. Really cool to browse through. Their bakery case is insane too with fresh pastries made in house every day. While waiting for our sandwiches, I grabbed a mango gelato and it was honestly fire. Super refreshing and full of flavor. Now, the sandwiches. Classic take a ticket and wait for your number deli setup. Once our turn came, I ordered the Angry Joe. That bread was crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the meats were packed with flavor. I threw on some pickles and banana peppers and the combo hit hard. I absolutely demolished it. My wife got the Great Grandpa Joe on wheat sourdough, which has apparently been on the menu for 75 years, and she loved it too.
We will definitely be back. So many other things I want to try next time. This place just has that old school, authentic vibe that hits right. The deli guys in the back making the sandwiches also punched out some jokes while you wait and made it into a whole experience. Was a great time, highly recommend!

Best Italian deli in Orange County hands down! They have great service and an incredible selection.

The only reason for the 4 stars for service is that when it’s busy, you can wait almost an hour just to get a sandwich from the deli counter….and that’s just because there are so many people waiting. It’s that good.

Outside of the sandwich and deli counter, their selection of Italian items is amazing.

We have tried their frozen items as well and are pleased with how they turned out.

This is our go to deli!

What a great find! I was Googling where to buy guanciale because I wanted to make an amatriciana and Claro’s was listed and nearby in Tustin

Ended up also walking out with a sandwich and both impressed. The guanciale was perfect and cooked easily. Added it to my sauce, cooked some bucatini and made my own version of Mario Batali’s famous bucatini alla’amartriciana.

Will be back.

Been looking for an Italian deli in the Costa Mesa Irvine area came across this place for the first time. I was told to get the Caroline turkey with ham sandwich with mayonnaise and thought overall it was OK about on par with other Italian delis that I’ve been to but nothing spectacular. I ordered a couple cookies and a Dr Pepper and would say ultimately, I’d rather go to the habit for a hamburger for half the price

The deli counter is amazing. The selection of Italian products is 10/10. The smell when you walk in transports you to Rome. This place is outstanding.
Yes the prices are a little high, but I’d rather support a local mom and pop so it’s worth it. Plus you can’t find most of the stuff on the shelves.

My only criticism is that the staff moves very slowly. If you come during any time time, not just lunch rush, just grabbing a sandwich is a 20min ordeal. During a lunch rush it can be the better part of an hour. The folks behind the counter a warm and friendly but no hustle. I guess it’s the real authentic Italy experience.

Best sandwiches and the prepared foods are delicious! Can’t go wrong with anything from here. The also have a large selection of pastas, olives, peppers along with wines and cheeses. Also don not forget to try the frozen pastas, meals like lasagna, eggplant parm, sauces too! And the bakery. Scrumptious.

The food is your typical Italian/American deli, soup to nuts. If you want it, they have it. The service in the deli department is excruciatingly slow and long waits are common. Some of the employees doing the cold cut slicing need to take a refresher course, it shouldn’t take that long. Good selection of breads, desserts and pastries. It’s worth a try if you’re not in a hurry. Nice clean store, plenty of parking. Mangia bene.

My favorite Italian Import Market in OC. I always have a good time joking and chatting with the AMAZING deli staff. The secret is do not be in a rush. The staff are willing to help and have a quick chat about the weather and what the kids are up to. They are running on Italian time. This is not a Wholefoods.
