A NEW BEGINNING FARM
While we were in Spartanburg, we had a hankering sushi/hibachi. Upon a referral from a family member, we looked up Miyako and saw it was 9mi s from our location, so we tried it! Thus place DID NOT disappoint! Customers were sitting outside waiting for a table. Customers were inside waiting for a table. By the amount of people waiting, we figured this place had to be good. We didn’t realize just how good! The muscles were fantastic! Oh, the wait wasn’t long, either. Our server was friendly and very upbeat, for being so busy. We expected a little stress, but no! All of them were hopping and smiling and taking time to talk with their tables. The menu was very descriptive and visual pictures of their sushi items. No surprises. I cannot say enough. Clean, inviting, and believe it or not, not overly loud. As busy as it was, you could still talk to each other. Cannot wait to go back!

We just finished eating here and the sushi is really good! The place is spacious, with a nice atmosphere and good music that’s not too loud. We came on a Tuesday around 8 PM, so it wasn’t crowded and the service was fast. We ordered the Black Dragon Roll, which was delicious with a mild spicy flavor, and the Tuna Square, which was a bit spicy for me but had a very generous portion. I really enjoyed it and would definitely come back!

Absolutely amazing sushi, appetizers and drinks. Very decently priced and the restaurant is clean and modern. The bar is great. The Brussel sprouts appetizer is like crack and the most delicious way I’ve ever eaten it. The Sweet Chili Crab roll is my favorite and the sushi, all of it, is so very fresh. Freshest I’ve had. Can’t say enough about the food here. Don’t sleep on this place.

Good food! The yum yum sauce had an odd tang to it that wasn’t my preference. The steak was cooked perfectly. The sushi was a big hit. The ingredients all seemed to be very fresh. We were seated in the back room right by the kitchen door which was really annoying since we got there before opening… We were the third ones in the door. There were plenty of decent seats available, but we felt like we got put in a back corner where we could not enjoy any sort of atmosphere. Overall, it was really good and the prices were good compared to most similar restaurants.

This was my first time here and it was great! My favorite sushi place is Irashai so it makes sense as the place is pretty much the same, down to the menu. I got all my usual favorites. Pretty cool atmosphere and the staff were great! I forgot to take pics of what I ordered, but I got a pic of what I took home.

I discovered this place a few days ago and I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been here 3 times in the last 4 days. Sushi, service, and atmosphere is amazing! The manager Melissa gets 5 stars as well! Order the Sweet Chili Crab and the 3 Shells sushi.. thank me later!!! I go to sushi restaurants all over the world, literally and this is top 2 of my experience! Great job!

Worse place to go on weekends. I went today and saw they were busy so I opted to order to go and was told a 30 min wait. So I eventually go in and she’s like 5 for mins. I was okay with that because they at least had my sushi done but not the hot food. 10 mins pass and I’m like hey I have to leave. At this point it’s getting dark and I’m trying to beat it as I live in NC. So she makes me wait another 10 mins for them to give me a refund. No offer to accept what was already made etc. I was just standing there in this overly loud crowed place a good 30 mins after the initial waiting period passed. So almost an hour for NOTHING. Their food is mid but I used to eat it when I lived in SC and craved the nori chips…without the guacamole tho cause they often let it go slightly sour. Anyways it’s a chaotic mess. They shouldn’t be accepting to go orders if they can’t fullfill what they already have.

Miyako Sushi has become my go-to spot in downtown Spartanburg, and honestly, it deserves all the love it gets. The price point is hard to beat, especially for the quality—you feel like you’re getting real value every time. The staff is fantastic, always welcoming, and it’s gotten to the point where I’ve become a regular, which makes dining there feel extra comfortable.
The sushi options are great, the chefs are friendly, and the whole place is always spotless with plenty of seating. Their sake prices are another big win—perfect for a casual night out without breaking the bank.
If their hours were a little different, I’d probably be there way more often. Still, it’s a fantastic spot, especially during baseball season. Definitely keep Miyako Sushi at the top of your list!

I did a to go order and I was blind disappointed! The hibachi was gross. The vegetables were very mushy down right unpalatable! The shrimp were baby frozen shrimp and over cooked. The two sushi rolls were bad as well! One had a abundant amount of mayo more than needed and the shrimp roll was again the baby frozen shrimp. I could’ve gotten better rolls at publix!

Ordered the sashimi chef choice. Fish was fresh and clean. Generous portions and well priced. Also ordered the scallop hand roll. Bay scallops are used in a scallop salad. Would had preferred sea scallops but was still good! The fried zucchini chips were to die for. Also to be noted out of at least 5 locations in downtown Spartanburg, this one was the first to make a decent long island ice tea! Large menu, interesting dishes ive never seen. Will be back to try more!
