This is the 1st time I’ve written a bad review for a restaurant ever. I wanted to do something special with my wife for New Year’s Eve so I made reservations well in advance for 430 pm. I actually saved money to pay for the dinner because I knew it was going to be expensive. I ordered the Australian Wagyu Steak and my wife ordered the Kansas City Strip Steak, Calamari for an appetizer, a glass of wine, my wife ordered a Manhattan, and I ordered the Brussels Sprouts as a side. The steaks were incredibly loaded with salt. So much so that I just couldn’t eat it and my wife had the same experience. We told our waitress that the our steaks were really salty and they said they would tell the chef but, didn’t offer a solution. We even took the steaks home and attempted to wash the salt off but, they were still too salty to enjoy. I had personally ordered the same steak 2 times before and it was delicious and thought it was the best steak I’ve had in a restaurant in years so I don’t know if they had a different chef or why it was served differently. I spent about $335 on our dinner for 2 and I don’t mind paying the money but, not when I don’t get an excellent product for it!

The steak was overcooked and dry for both of us. The lump crab enhancement had shell throughout every bite I tried. I would have rather visited Texas Roadhouse for less than a third of what we paid. The mexican street corn side dish and the shrimp cocktail appetizer were the best things we ate but that’s not an impressive feat for any restaurant. We didn’t come here for that. We came here for a special occasion. I really wanted to say something to the waiter but I didn’t want to ruin the evening so I just bit the bullet. The server, Robert, was great! He deserves to be backed by better quality food.

AMAZING
There’s places to eat, there’s places for special memories, there’s places with five star Michelin then there is black and blue!!! It has been many many moons since I can honestly say a restaurant has checked all the boxes ,especially one that has been opened as long as black and blue and not become complacent.. I am honestly Blown Away! From the greeting at the door all the way to the service at the table and general management just paying attention to your every need with a smile would make Chef Ramsay envious and I haven’t even spoke about the food I will let your taste buds imagination explode at the possibilities from the drinks to the steak to the fondue…., absolutely decadent! Now comes the price….. let’s just say you pay for what you get and that’s absolute Bliss the only thing I think they could use are bigger candles at the table so you can enjoy the love and picturesque way the chef plates every culinary Delight… thank you for a wonderful evening……

The place was super dark inside and the vibe was a bit awkward. I had to send my steak back, and it took about 15 minutes for the replacement to come out. By then, my sides were cold. They offered me a plate so I could eat while waiting, but it was literally just mushrooms. Then they ended up bringing me a birthday dessert… but it was actually my anniversary. For the prices, I expected way better. If you want a high quality steak that’s worth the money, go to Buffalo Chophouse instead.

Elegant ambiance, consistent with other Black & Blue locations. I ordered the steak, which was perfectly prepared and well presented. The mashed potatoes on the side were decent but could have been a bit creamier and smoother. The crab dip with bread, calamari, and meatballs were all outstanding. Service was prompt and attentive through.

We’ve been here three times. It was the place of our second date as a couple, and now we came back as husband and wife, so it’s very special to us. This time, my steak wasn’t cooked as I ordered at first, but a waiter noticed right away and brought me a new one — and it turned out to be the best steak we’ve ever had!

This steak house is exsisting on reputation and they are inconsistant. The quality of my staek at Black & Blue would have been an imbarrassment for Sizzler. For over 50 yrs of my 70yrs, dinning out (not just eating out) has been my avoction. Ordering steaks on 5 continents , from most every major city, to small Montana and Texas towns where the chef personally knew the steer, I’ve developed an appriciation for a truly good steak. The ribeye steak I recieved at B&B was quite possibly the worst piece of meat I’ve ever tried to chew. Ordered medium, it arrived with barely a pink line, hard, and not one ml of juice. Bone dry. To make it worse, it had that very strong dry taste of a chemical tenderizer. Even the very coveted spinalis doris, that juicey crown, was dry, chewy and tasted like it had been dragged throught the chemical plants in Niagara Falls. When I informed our waitress, she said “oh, sorry, I’ll get you anohther” a second one was delivered shortly and was a bit better BUT still not nearly the quality nor taste that is worthy of a top Steakhouse. It still had the taste of a chemical tenderizer. Also, one wold think that at minimum there would be a visit from the Manager to offer his/her apologies. Nope . Certianly not looking for any adjustment or “freebee” , but at least an acknowledgement from manament. Our waitstaff was attentive but in that pre-recorded “Stepford Wife” kind of engagement. Food at a restaurants should be good, regaurdless of it’s cost, but it is especially disappointing to pay hundreds of dollars for a steak dinner that would have been better at Outback. (and I really don’t like Outback)

It was our first time two Black and Blue. The overall atmosphere is pretty nice! Our waitress was good but her helper was top notch. We had a reservation so getting seated was not an issue.

Nice selection of steaks and seafood. We tried to bistro steak and the fillet, both of which were delicious. Nice wine selection. The cauliflower was surprisingly good.

We were a party of 4 and have been to B&B many times. They have always been accommodating to seat us in the quieter side room due to a hearing issue with someone in my party. This is much appreciated and we did sit there last evening. Unfortunately, our experience was surprisingly disappointing. The calamari was delicious, but the portion was skimpy as compared to previous times ordered. The same was true of our sides, m. potato, mushrooms, and dry lobster mac n cheese which were served barely warm. We would have sent it back but everyone said dont bother by the time we get it taken care off, the steaks will be ice cold. The scallop entree which was good but only included 3 scallops which should have been noted on the menu. Not a great value for the price and not satisfying as a meal. It was more like an appetizer portion with entree price.
We had cocktails at the bar which were enjoyable and a Kudos to the 2 bartenders who really are busy. At the table we odered sodas but received a thimble size soda without refills. The filets and porterhouse ordered were cooked perfect, but were served not even warm enough for the truffle butter to melt on it. In regards to the staff, waiter not that attentive, but wait support staff was great. Disappointing as in previous visits, now rethinking if we return.
