Friendly staff and very quick service
Nice restaurant layout where you can sit and enjoy your BBQ with a view of the smokers and grill. Unfortunately that view reviled something I did not want to see, but it explained some of the taste: they put a new split on the grill and drenched it in lighter fluid before lighting it on fire and directly putting a batch of sausages over it to get reheated. Of course what ever protein cooked like that will have a lighter-fluid-aftertaste.
I ordered:
– Brisket (cubes of brisket, no slices. Fat was rendered, but there was not much taste to the meat)
– Chicken (nice char on the skin and taste from the grill)
– Spareribs (a little chewy and not a whole lot of meat on them)
– Beef rib (also very chewy and had almost no meat on it…95% bone and 5% chewy meat)
– Hot link (OK hot link)
– Mac & Cheese (unfortunately a little bland and watery. Would do well with a little seasoning and more cheese in the mix)
Total cost 47$.

Delicious BBQ. The garlic bun was also delicious & they have sweet tea.
Tri-Tip was juicy and tender.
Order at the counter and the food is taken out to you.

They have beef rib options. That is extremely important because my partner and I do not like pork. My partner had the beef ribs with Mac & cheese as a side. I had the chicken and brisket combo. Let me tell you something, I would eat at Salty’s daily if I lived near by. Too bad we live in South Dakota, I look forward to eating at Salty’s at least twice a year now. The meat was tender, juicy and they cook it outside on the grill. The Mac&cheese was creamy and had a spicy kick to it. We will definitely be coming back to eat at Salty’s in the future.

A very nice experience all around! Heard about this place from a friend and it didn’t disappoint. Along with a train car , it provided outside eating as well. Very well decorated. The massive barbecues are putting out good meat. I tried 3 sides. Mac and cheese, beans and green beans. They all were to my liking. The bread is made in Bakersfield at a Basque store. Staff was very helpful. A worthy experience.

There are cool places with humble beginnings and then there’s Salty’s BBQ! Went here on a business lunch with two locals and my boss. Three Salty Specials, A Salty’s chicken salad, orders of spicy beans and spicy macaroni and cheese rounded out our meals. The food here is phenomenal! Service was friendly and efficient, and the owner took the time for some laughs and pictures! What a fun, tasty way to have lunch! This is a must stop while in Bakersfield! Stop by and be ready to be amazed!

Smelled great pulling up!! A little bit of a long but great service made it go pretty quick. The pulled pork and chicken was really good! Chilli beans and coleslaw but the spot, the chili beans had a bit of kick, coleslaw was just plain real good. Both my ribs were perfect, had a good smoke ring and had that good pull to get it off bone… The seasoning on the beef ribs was super delicious! The brisket tasted great and was a bit dry but we were there early evening. One bad thing was only one kind of sauce,no variety but it was really good… If you’re into sauce I’m not, great BBQ doesn’t need it, but that’s my wife’s input about sauces.

Food was amazing like always. Ordered the 1/2lb chicken and pulled pork combo, with the spicy mac and cheese. As well as the tri tip and rib combo. Everything was cooked to perfection, highly recommend if you’re craving bbq.

They have the BBQ Grill cooking up some amazing Chicken and Ribs on an open flame outside as you walk up!
They have outdoor dining with mister’s to keep you cool as well as indoor dining in an awesome Dinning Car style restaurant. The menu has an amazing lineup of all your favorite BBQ combinations.
Great people and amazing food!
The drive through was also hopping and had a steady flow of local traffic!

Food used to be Awsome but chicken has always been over cooked & dry. But you may get lucky & get a piece that’s not so dry. After several years I decided to give it a try. It was still a little to dry but come on guys why all the salt your food is already well seasoned. After a couple of bites I forced several more bites cuz the food is very expensive but had to stop eating at less than half just to salty to eat. Sad

They ruined the beautiful artfully crafted flavors of the pulled pork by dumping BBQ sauce all over it. Most places let you place the sauce yourself. The spicy mac ‘n cheese had nice flavor, however, the side was RUINED by over cooking the macaroni until MUSHY. The potato salad tasted like egg yolks finely blended with lots of mayonnaise. Garlic green beans were ON POINT. Nice flavor, beans NOT overcooked
