The fried chicken in this place is outrageous. Pork belly is great desserts. Were awesome, mashed potatoes unbelievable.
Let’s just say you gotta try the place if you’re in the area or on a road trip right off. I95.

Nanny’s is fantastic A short walk from a hand full of hotels like the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton Inn off S. Crater Rd in Petersburg, VA. We went for dinner and the all you can eat buffet is $21 and great value for all the offerings. Like many others have said, the fried chicken and Salisbury Steak are awesome. But, the real star of the show was the BBQ Ribs! Real smokehouse flavor and fall off the bone tender. We also loved the pineapple cake. Other things we thought were delicious were the greens (they were more sweet than savory) the green beans, Yams, sausage and BBQ sauce that was provided on the table. The desserts looked very appealing (bread pudding, peach and apple cobbler) but after two full plates and the pineapple cake. We needed wheelbarrow’s to get us out of there. The service was very attentive as well. It’s right off 95 so don’t pass Nanny’s up if you are passing through the Fort Lee / Petersburg VA area.

The service was absolutely great! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, even though there weren’t many POC’s. I will tell you that the food is definitely unseasoned, but with the amount of elderly people thats probably the reason why.

Saw this place driving past between jobs, decided I wanted to try. Their hours are pretty hard to work with, lunch Tuesday – Friday, dinner Friday and Saturday. Finally, my wife and I were able to catch them open for lunch. The cost is very reasonable for a buffet. The food fresh and very tasty. Being open only 3 hours for lunch on a weekday, the food stays fresh. And the parking lot was full, ensuring it stays that way. I loved the sausage, in particular. But, everything was very good. If you can catch them open, give it a shot, you’ll like it.

Heard about Nanny’s quite a bit but have never been here before. Heard the homestyle southern comfort food on the buffet is amazing. Rumor was that the cheeseburger was the best. And that wasn’t a lie. This is how a cheeseburger should be done. It was so good. Fresh onions, lettuce, crisp pickles. I opted for no tomato. Soft Fresh bun. Melted cheese. Meat was cooked perfectly. However the fries were not my style. They were soggy. I like my fries crispy. Maybe next time I’ll get onion rings instead. Will for sure come back when I have worked up an appetite to try the buffet offerings. It all looked so appetizing. Was completely packed on a Friday at lunch hour. Steady patrons coming and going. I see why this restaurant is popular. Too bad the hours are limited.

I throughly enjoyed my visit. Food was fresh and Buffet was continuously stocked. Some of The Best Fried Chicken I’ve had! The options on the buffet were not immense; However, I was pleased with the selection available. I loved The Brisket ❤️ Was Moist, well cooked and DELICIOUS! The Salad Bar was very fresh and The Desserts were Perfect. To whomever makes the Brownies and Cobblers….. I love you . This Restaurant is a True Jem…. A MUST TRY! Shoutout to the Host, Waitresses and overall staff… The food was Awesome but your service will definitely keep em coming. I felt very welcome and at home. My waitress was a sweetheart. Can’t remember her name but she gave me GREAT RECOMMENDATIONS on what to try and was on point. Thank you

Not far off of 95 is this great Southern barbecue buffet restaurant. We found it quite by accident and are certainly glad we did. Maybe some of the crispiest and tender fried chicken we’ve ever had. Every bite of food we had was better than the previous bite. Salsbury steak, pulled pork, greens, homemade whipped mashed potatoes, hush puppies, it was all delicious! We marked this place on our map so that we can make this a regular stop.

Perfect example of Southern hospitality! From the moment we stepped into the restaurant until we left, the staff was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed dining with Christian music playing in the background. Home-cooked southern cuisine was very comforting. The fried chicken was so good! The peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending to our meal!

The chicken, the brisket the pull pork the ribs the Salisbury hamburger, collards, green beans, mash potato, apple pie it-was-gooooooood!!!! Oh my goodness it was good!!! The buffet is the way to go. The owners must pray over the food before they open. Everything my wife and I ate was excellent. We went on Saturday November 8th at around 5 pm. Please go, I urge you to go. Our server was very attentive. It was a very very good dine in experience.
Thank you Nannys!
