More food than we could eat! I had the hot beef and my plate was covered with tasty beef slices in a yummy gravy. Just a bit too much pepper as a seasoning for me, but overall delicious.
Hubs had the catfish – again, too much for him to finish.
Service was quick, and our server Laura was sweet, pleasant and efficient. Everyone is greeted when they enter and wished a good evening when they depart. Pleasant, hardworking and skilled folks in every position – very positive experience for us as our-of-towners!

The flounder and jumbo fried shrimp are pretty good. The hush puppies are delicious.
They put the fried fish on top of the popcorn shrimp so all the grease from the fish dripped into the shrimp and it was very greasy so I could not eat it. But the few that I did taste were pretty good. The fries seemed to be unsalted.
The macaroni and cheese is very bland so if you like flavor you will need to add seasonings. Unfortunately I did not eat the mac and cheese.
I was expecting the peach cobbler to be sweet, but it was not sweet at all. The peaches were not sweet either. So I ended up throwing it out. But If you prefer your peach cobbler to not have a sweet taste, then it is perfect for you. It has a good texture and crust to it. It’s just not sweet at all.
Overall I would get food from here again because the food was fresh and some of it was very good to me. I like highly seasoned food so that’s what my review is based on. If you are the same, I would suggest sticking to the seafood.

Everyone was so friendly and attentive here. I ordered the chicken fried steak, collards and rice & gravy. THOSE COLLARDS ARE THE BEST SINCE MY MAMA’S!!! As I was eating them, I ordered 2 more to go. Sadly, I’ve run out of them and I live out of state, man would I love that recipe! Thank you to all of you at A & P, we found y’all by accident and oh what a happy accident that was! Y’all give the true meaning of “soul food”, because those collards truly touched my soul and made me soooo happy God Bless Y’all ❤️

I stopped in to check it out and wasn’t disappointed. It feels like an old school diner and can even sit at the front counter which I did
The staff was very friendly and kept my coffee cup full the entire time. I just ordered the two egg platter which was great. You really can’t mess up the basics, but since I love these type of hash browns I’ll be back for breakfast again!

A & P has been around for years. And it’s no mystery why…. it’s great!
While they do have a regular menu. To me it’s the meat and three I stop in at lunch for!
Today I had chicken fried steak, mac & cheese, and slaw. The cornbread came with the meal.

First time here and was not impressed. I ordered the country fried steak and it was not good! Way too salty and did not taste freshly made. Mac and cheese was very bland, potatoes and gravy not very good and green beans were good. The sweet tea is way too sweet! I would not order this again from this restaurant. Husband did say he liked his burger and fries.

We’ve been to this place several times when we’ve come to Greenville. We were in a particular hurry yesterday. We were dropping my sister and BIL off at the airport for an international flight. It would be many hours before they could get food. The parking lot was packed, but we found a table immediately. We decided on our choices, the sweet waitress took the order and our food was out in 7 minutes, I kid you not. The food was good, hot and fresh. We got them to the airport and through security in plenty of time.
Divine intervention or super service? Some of both! Highly recommend them. Also reasonable prices.
