Moby Dick’s in Wellfleet is an absolute gem! The service is top-notch—friendly, fast, and efficient, with an attentive staff that works incredibly hard. My late afternoon lunch was a delight, and I was so glad I went early because the dinner line was long, though the staff was there to assist.
The food was outstanding. The local Chatham steamed clams were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. But the star was the lobster roll—packed with delicious claw meat and, I think, a touch of paprika. It was simply one of the best I’ve ever had.
With a gift shop and a takeout window for convenience, Moby Dick’s is a true Cape Cod classic. I highly recommend the lobster roll and the steamers, and I’ve also heard great things about their scallop and clam rolls. You won’t be disappointed!

Nice atmosphere, good food, and a clean restaurant. This a nice roadside place that offers inside and back patio dining. It’s a little pricey for the portions but it’s the Cape and I’d definitely go back.

I just had one of the best lobster rolls here!

The staff are very welcoming and even when it gets busy, they still make sure that everything is going okay for you. We also ordered the clam chowdah and calamari platter. You get what you pay for, which is a lot of good quality food.

Also make sure to check out the gift shop next door. They have some neat trinkets and gifts.

This place was great. We got to experience proper American service and friendliness first hand. I’ve never had my drink refilled so many times, and I’m all for it… Furthermore, the food was excellent and exactly what we wanted, fresh fried fish (and plenty of it). Cozy outdoor sitting area too…

An absolutely delicious meal and a must visit if you’re on the outer cape or headed to P-town!

I had the boiled lobster, and it was mouth watering and so fresh! The French fries here are also so good!

My mom loved her meal as well, and we couldn’t stop raving about how good everything was and how it was the best meal we had on our vacation.

All the workers are friendly and extremely attentive. Great atmosphere as well. Prices were reasonable too!

You don’t want to drive by without stopping, and every time we went by, it was packed!

We found this place by pure accident we were just Is hungry and pulled over and I am so glad we did. The service here is absolutely phenomenal. The restaurant smells clean, the atmosphere is pure Cape Cod. The owner was stopping at everyone’s table, asking how their food was, and if everything was okay. This place is an absolute must return. The food was so delicious and hot. The clam chowder was creamy and delicious. And the salt and pepper shakers even had the most precious.

Wow, this place was amazing. The oysters were fresh and delicious. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops. My wife had the lobster roll. We traveled from Kansas to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary here in Provincetown. I am really glad we stopped here. The dessert was over the top. If you haven’t eaten here, you need to.

Make sure you shop for drinks (beer, wine) before you get there because you can bring your own drinks. The fried clams is the best dish.

We ate dinner at Moby Dick’s 3 nights during our stay on Cape Cod and were impressed every visit! The food was consistently delicious and cooked to perfection! The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and fun! The owner made us feel like part of the family. 10/10 highly recommend!

Thank you for such an enjoyable experience, Moby Dick’s! Look forward to seeing you all again next time! Love from the gals from Syracuse University!

Moby Dick was hands down the best seafood we had during our stay in Truro! We ordered the lobster bisque, fried calamari, fish and chips, and shrimp and chips—everything was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous. Everything tasted fresh, but the standout for us was definitely the calamari—crispy, tender, and perfectly seasoned.

We sat on the back patio, which was a lovely spot and dog-friendly—a big plus for us since we had our two little Westies with us. Just a heads-up: dining with dogs can be a bit tricky since the tables are low, and our pups quickly realized they could sneak a bite if we weren’t paying attention!

The only thing missing? Alcohol isn’t served, and we did wish we could enjoy a cold beer with our meal, especially for our last night on the Cape Cods. Still, the great food and warm atmosphere more than made up for it. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit!
