We visited the location in Buda, TX at 381 Old San Antonio Rd today and were looking forward to an easy meal and not having to cook. We spent $38 for 2 meals and two appetizers. The food seemed to take a really long time to come out, which was surprising, since there was no one in line ahead of us.
When we arrived home and opened the food containers, all of the fried items were a very dark brown color and had a very bitter, rancid taste. I worked for years in restaurant management and immediately recognized that they were all fried in oil that was burnt and needs to be changed. This food should NEVER be served to guests, especially at a restaurant that has primarily fried items on the menu. Your Buda crew definitely needs some training.
When we called the store to ask for a refund, the manager said that they could not issue one without us coming back to the store. So, what was supposed to be a relaxing night of not cooking turned into a fiasco, with us having to waste our time and drive back to give them the burnt, rancid food. Do better Buda Zaxby’s. We will definitely not be returning to this location any time soon. The prices are way too high for the lack of quality and customer service.

Love the place but prices are too high for what is served. Tasted good and the employees were very helpful at this location. I might go again but I was disappointed to find another chicken restaurant in the south that did no offer gravy. White cream gravy is a southern staple with chicken. Hard to want to eat here again if a major chain can not include a side of gravy.

I came through the drive through and ordered a Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich. Service was good, but when I got home and opened my box, it was so messy and quite literally everywhere. It only had two chicken tenders on it and ONLY the bottom piece of bread. Tenders were hard and definitely not easy to eat, but I’m not wasting what little money I have. To say I’m disappointed and frustrated is definitely an understatement. When I opened the box, it looked just like this. I do NOT recommend.

We won’t be back to Zaxbys in Buda. I ordered a 10 piece and a 5 piece meal and received 8 tenders total when I checked everything at home- 1 box had sides we didnt order. My bad for not checking right away, but I’ve been on my last straw with this place- theres plenty of options for chicken tenders close by- save your money for some place that actually gets the order right, eh?

First of all I’ve come to this location before and it’s never been this bad… one the chicken strips were so dry you could choke easily on them as if they were cooked over a few hours ago, Fries were barely cooked at all so yup another bad… on top of that most of the soda selections were empty and the ones are not empty were more carbonated water then soda so had to let it run and empty my cup multiple times for some kind of decent flavor it was still watered down…. on top of that its 44 degrees outside why is the AC on in the building because its COLD as it is outside. Ohhhh not only that do y’all clean up after customers??? Doesn’t look like the tables have been cleaned all day. Outlook isn’t so good for this location..

These (tenders) are so small it’s ridiculous chik filters nuggets are almost as big. Would not recommend this place at all it’s over priced and underwhelming

This visit was much better than I expected as their bone in wings actually was pretty flavorful. Wasn’t expecting a lot, but it exceeded my expectations, and the lemonade was truly tasty.

If you had canes this is 10x time better plus the variety the employees are very communicative and help you out if you live in Austin I promise you it’s worth the drive not to mention those loaded fries were A1 delicious you will not regret it but will regret if you keep eating at canes and don’t come here and try it for yourself you will make that drive I promise you! I come from Austin to have me some finger drooling chicken and wings not to mention that sauce you thought canes sauce was good you haven’t had Zaxby’s sauce make you want to put it on everything 10x time better then old canes sauce so cmon on down and see what all the fuss is about

The food has always been great at all the other locations, but this ones portions were so small that my husband was still hungry after the 6 piece meal. For some reason the chicken strips were like little nuggets and were so small it was ridiculous and the fries didn’t even fill the little spot in the take out box. Very disappointed. My salad was great though!
