The service is always excellent—staff are warm, hospitable, and genuinely kind. A smile and a little courtesy go a long way, and it’s something I really appreciate here. The dining area itself is simple and clean with nice decorative touches, though I’ll admit the booths could use a little extra cushion for comfort.
Overall, Garbanzo delivers a great experience with fantastic food and welcoming service. It’s a spot I’ll continue to return to again and again.
Went back last night for the first time in a few months. Evidently the gyros deal is back, but the experience was really disappointing. The new kiosks they have for you to order from are very poorly placed and feel very anti-customer, like the staff doesn’t want to have to deal with talking to people if they can avoid it. My wife ordered a salad, I got a plate that was the same price, and I only got maybe 2/3 the amount of food she did. They changed the pitas too and the new ones taste way worse.
Don’t plan on returning. Try Crave down the street for good Mediterranean food.
But now? No ability to get a half scoop of something or a little extra of something else. I asked for the garlic sauce and tzatziki for both my boyfriend and I. Not only were the sauces on the side (not what I input), but also we got only one tzatziki and 3 garlics. Also, while I appreciate that they gave us two pitas when we only wanted one, that much should have been clear in the kiosk order. Between that and the weirdness with the sauce, it makes me worry how well the kiosk orders are being followed.
Normally I’d spend 10 minutes max and Garbanzo for a take out order. Today I spent 25 minutes between troubleshooting the kiosk taking my loyalty account (kiosk said my phone number was invalid and the app wouldn’t let me add it to my my account because it was already in use), placing the order, and then waiting for them to make it
The staff did their best to help me troubleshoot the loyalty issue, so kudos to them, but this kiosk decision is garbage. There’s a reason Chipotle (and Cava) have you order in person when you’re there. Hint: It’s faster!
An employee named Lorenzo handled my order and placed sauce containers on a visibly dirty counter before putting them on top of my bowl. When I politely asked that the sauce not be placed on my food for that reason, he complied but then repeatedly ignored my “thank you,” which felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive.
The overall attitude suggested a lack of care for cleanliness or customer service. Mediterranean food is one of my favorites, so this experience was especially disappointing. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
After placing my order, I realized I missed a couple of add-ons and asked if they could add them. I was told they couldn’t because they weren’t selected on the kiosk. I understand that many companies are shifting toward more technology, but not being able to build my bowl properly — or receive basic flexibility from staff — is incredibly frustrating.
If this is the direction the restaurant is going, it will keep me from coming back. Please get back to the basics and prioritize customer service again.
I love the falafel!
