This is one my favorite lunch and brunch place to go.
Love the newly renovated atmosphere, kept its classiness and uniquenss.
Service was exceptional as usual.
Quality and taste of the dishes are delicious as always.
Great touch to have more than enough coats hanging spaces, especially on a busy weekend.
Price is on the high-end side, as expected. You get what you pay for. You are paying for the high quality food+ingredients+service.
Parking garages nearby, convenient. Close to shops and more.
Highly recommend.

Mon Ami Gabi’s renovation is a success, blending classic Parisian charm with a stylish, updated look. The bar area, featuring stunning artwork and design, is a clear highlight, creating a chic and vibrant atmosphere.
We began with our flawless classics, the seasoned mussels and the incredibly rich chicken liver mousse pâté. For the main, I skipped my usual Filet Mignon for the seafood – the expertly seared scallops with a side of buttery pomme purée were a fantastic, decadent choice.
The drink menu received the best upgrade; the Belle de Jour (a zesty, tequila-forward Collins) was a favorite. This refresh is a total success – Mon Ami Gabi is a must-visit.
Our Order:
• Mussels
• Chicken Liver Mousse Pâté
• Scallops
• Pomme Purée
• Belle de Jour Cocktail

The Mon Ami Gabi is not the same as previously. The food was fair – onion soup was so so definitely not the best, Caesar salad with chicken was fine but again have had better, the cheese burger with fries was not good compared to many others.
The check quietly comes with a 3.5% surcharge to cover rising costs. You may ask for it to be removed.
When we entered they directed us to a high top table. When we turned down that table, a host said gruffly said “take them outside”. We were seated in the heated outdoor seating.
The pricing is more than doubled what it was previously. No real reason to come here.

The escargot and baguette were consistently delicious per usual. The endive roquefort salad too. We’d made reservations in advance and enjoyed the chandeliers, updated interior. But **please** add windowshades in the enclosed side patio, it was boiling (for myself, my toddler, and the family seated nearby w/baby).

Had a fun Sunday lunch date here, just wanted a few French bites and got exactly what I wanted. After going to the Chicago location many times, I’m glad to see this spot is also superb. The escargots were delicious!

This was our first time visiting Mon Ami Gabi since the new renovations. The inside is beautiful and very welcoming. The staff here are warm and friendly- and able to provide good recommendations. The heirloom tomato salad is delicious and a perfect summer lunch. All the sorbets here are lovely. 10/10 recommend visiting if you’re in Bethesda and looking for good French food.

We visited the restaurant on opening day after the renovation. The interior is beautiful and classic with more space for tables. We informed them that we were there to celebrate a special occasion and our server Marianna took great care of us. Of course, it was crowded on opening night but the food came out timely and our server made sure we were well looked after without rushing. Her knowledge and recommendation of wine pairing with the food was excellent and we really enjoyed it.
We went back again to try the brunch menu and were treated to a great meal by our server Ismael. The customer service standards here are clearly excellent. We will definitely be going back again.

This restaurant has been closed for many months and was excited they finally reopened in March 2025. They did extensive renovations, and I like what they did to the place. There is a large bar area now upfront and a small bar in the back. It seems they added more tables/seats. I wish they would turn up the light a little, as it was pretty dark in there. Of course, with the renovations done, the prices have increased notably, but I am happy to say the quality of the food is still great. Their French bread isn’t free anymore, and it comes with shredded celery slaw now instead of carrot slaw.
For appetizers, the French onion soup and 1/2 order of mussels is still great albeit more expensive. These had to be the largest mussels I’ve even eaten. For main courses, I usually stick with the steak frites. It’s priced at $36.95 now, but the steak is so tender, and the fries are great, although the steak wasn’t served hot, just warm- maybe it was sitting out for too long.
Will definitely be back. Also, their happy hour menu looks pretty decent, so will have to check that out as well.

A favorite dining experience in Bethesda. The remodeled interior is exceptional with the look and feel of a French bistro. The steak frites is the most popular dish, with a variety of sauce options with which to pair. The Caesar Salad and French Onion Soup are also solid choices as starters. Having eaten here for years, my only disappointment has been the removal of some old favorites like the goat cheese in tomatoe puree with baguette appetizer, and NY Strip, which I loved. Otherwise, the food is served up well and the service is professional and courteous. Prices are on the high side, but that is to be expected for the overall ambience and experience. It is not Le Diplomat, but if you want a nice night out with a Parisian “feel” without the hassle of driving down town, you cant go wrong here. Reservations are required, and I highly recommend clarifying the type of table you want as there are a mix of high tops and booths. Also, if reserving a large group, DO NOT let them put you in the large table in the very back. Our daughter, her husband, and his parents were seated there and had a bad experience. It was dark and closed off from the rest of the restaurant.
