The tacos al pastor are the main event at Chunga’s, and for good reason. Pork, pineapple and some greenery make for a very satisfying, non-greasy meal. All kinds of fun ingredients dot the menu, including a few vegetarian options like cactus, mushroom and flor de calabaza (google that last one since translation is hard to find). If you want something a little more authentic, try the alambre, a dish that’s a bunch of normal Mexican ingredients mixed together in a tasty mess. Cool the spiciness off with a papaya shake. Chunga’s has two locations on 18895 South Redwood Rd. Salt Lake City, Utah 84104 and on 180 S 900 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84104.
Mexican fare with a Cancun flair including burritos, pineapple salsa & fruity milkshakes.

Reviews
steak & al pastor tacos: 5/5
al pastor burrito: 3.5/5 (it’s a bit of a weird mix, but my own fault)
Homemade salsa: 10/5!!! SO good!!!
Friendly service. The restaurant has its own parking lot.
From the moment we walked in, the experience felt unforgettable. It was our first visit, and let’s just say it felt like a full-on celebration Free drinks, festive vibes, and such a welcoming atmosphere. The energy alone made it worth stopping by.
The food? Absolutely delicious and definitely a step above your typical fast-food stop ️ Everything came out quickly, which we really appreciated, and the staff were friendly and fun. The enchiladas we saw coming out to other tables looked amazing — people seemed pretty happy digging in
Overall, it was fast, entertaining, and full of personality. We left laughing and already curious what the next visit might bring!
