I’m honestly not sure how we stumbled upon The Porch… but I’m SO happy we did! Oh. My. God. — the chicken is everything: juicy, crispy, perfectly saucy! And the best part? You don’t even need to go full Nashville Hot if spice isn’t your thing — they’ve got delicious non-spicy options too.
I ordered 2 Nashville dark leg quarter with pimento mac and cheese and collard greens. The collard greens was the star of the show, it was insanely good! My husband went with the novice shrimp platter and he really enjoyed it. Even my daughter’s kids’ chicken tenders were huge and tasty! Overall, this spot is solid, highly recommend checking it out for yourself!
The only downside is calling in an order… I kept getting put on hold forever, so definitely bring some patience. And I did not like the catfish taco at all. The catfish lacked seasoning. But all in all? The Porch delivers pretty awesome food in a great location.

Casual walk up and order restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good food, everything was cooked just right.
If you really like spicy then go up to the highest level. I’ll have to try the Napalm spice level next time. The Nashville was good for the flavor of the spices, not so much the heat.

Not a fan of having to go into a sit down place to eat and have to do all the work except cook and they want a tip. I had to walk in, then walk to the counter to order, then go get my own drink in a plastic cup. Now at least I didn’t have to go back and get my food. Here is your tip, cook your food a lot better and maybe you can spend money other places.
Did not do it for us. I really try to be fair when I go eat. I had the catfish plate with cheese tots and collards. The fish was cut into strips, some sill with bones. Soft and mushy, could have been crispier. The cheese tots again, under cooked. Not sure why they pulled the food so early, not like they were speedy getting it to the table. The star was definitely the collards.
Shrimp plate again, negative ghost rider. The shrimp was rubbery and had no flavor without pulling them through the cocktail sauce. Grits were thicker than paste.
Having a picture of a chef in your restaurant is not really doing much. Especially when he was just interviewed and said the majority of places he stops he doesn’t really like. I will not miss this place for sure.

Love the atmosphere and vibes! Tenders, catfish, pimento grits and Mac n cheese were THE BEST! Cocktail sauce was delicious! Fried shrimp was good but could be seasoned a bit more, baked beans were bland to be maple flavored. Looking forward to trying new dishes and sides next visit!

This place was recommended by multiple people and did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly. The food came out popping hot from the kitchen and fresh. Everything tasted fantastic and freshly made. I would stay away from the hot sauces unless you really like heat. I would go back and eat here again.

A bit of a “dive” in a good way, the Porch lives up to its reputation. The chicken tenders, ordered Nashville Hot, were crispy and crunchy and lip-numbing hot. I got bacon baked beans and tots, both totally acceptable. Friends said the shrimp were good but I thought they looked a bit small (maybe that is normal for wild caught red shrimp). Order at the counter through friendly staff who then deliver to your table. Nothing fancy but a fun vibe and good food. Prices are very reasonable.

This chicken shack rocks! The prices are perfectly economical for the amount of food served. They have $6 frozen rose drinks on Fridays that were scrumptious. Dine inside or outside and you can play bags while waiting for your food, although the wait is pretty quick. Highly recommend this joint for a quick midday meal or for a couple cocktails before heading out in the village.

The food was great, and we loved the “porch” vibe and atmosphere! I loved that they highlighted which options were gluten free and vegan/vegetarian, as I can’t eat wheat or dairy so it makes eating out challenging, but they made it easy! I had roasted chicken (Nashville hot) with brussel sprouts and tried collard greens for the first time ever. The brussel sprouts were the best I’ve had in my entire life!!! The chicken was amazing as well, but if you want spicy, maybe choose the Napalm heat, the Nashville wasn’t spicy at all to me, but the flavor was great!!! And the prices were pretty great!

We really enjoyed our meals. I wish I had known the spice level was based on a paprika. The novice was good but Nashville overpowered any taste of chicken at all.
We all agreed we would return and just have the fish, shrimp, and chicken without any “heat.”
