We stopped by Big T’s Bar-B-Q and had a great experience. There was very little wait time, and while the building and décor are older (nothing modern or flashy), everything was clean and well-kept — which honestly adds to the classic BBQ joint vibe.
They were out of pulled pork during our visit, so I went with the smoked ham sandwich and my date ordered the brisket sandwich. Both were delicious and served in solid, satisfying portions. The fries are freshly cut, which is always a win, and the BBQ sauce was packed with flavor — vinegar-based, so if you like that tangy kick, you’ll be very happy.
Also worth mentioning: the large drinks are MASSIVE. Like, commit-to-hydration massive.
Friendly staff, quick service, and good food all around. Definitely a spot we’d return to.

Great first time visit. Many food options were not available, but what we ended up ordering the full slab of ribs and double meat beef/turkey sandwich was great. As we waiting for the food the smell of the building made us even more hungry. Fries were fresh made from potatoes. Pricing was a little expensive, but was satisfied with the food taste and portion size.

Stopped by Big T’s BBQ in Kansas City it’s in the old Oscar’s BBQ building which is the same family recipes I’m guessing! The service was friendly and fast, and the portion sizes were generous. I ordered the brisket and burnt ends with a side of baked beans and onion rings. The Brisket was actually tender and had good smoke flavor which is not always the case with Kansas City style thin sliced brisket but the burnt ends were a bit dry and crispy burnt parts for my liking but good flavor profile overall. The sauce was also unique with a big tangy tomato base with a little pepper and spice. The sides were decent, nothing to write home about, but they did the job.
Overall, Big T’s delivers a satisfying meal if you’re in the area and craving barbecue, but it didn’t quite live up to the KC BBQ hype for me. Worth trying, but maybe not a must-visit. I will also not that I stopped by between lunch and dinner time and they had a steady stream of definite locals coming through so it is definitely a hit with the locals.

Coming from Texas we have a different definition of BBQ. This is very black pepper heavy in the sauce. Meats are thinly sliced which I like, pork ribs are tender. Restaurant very smoky, in a good way. Smells

I stopped here in the middle of the afternoon for lunch, and something to take to my hotel for dinner. The food is fantastic! I got burnt ends, because I can’t seem to find real ones at home, and they were so good! Portions are good sized too. I ended up taking half of them in a to go box. I ordered the double stack sandwich with brisket and turkey for my dinner that night. Even heated up in the microwave the meat was moist and tender and flavorful. I ended up getting four meals out of my entire order. The people working were absolutely friendly and welcoming and so helpful in helping me decide what to order. I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. My only complaint is that I don’t get to Kansas City on a regular basis so I can go back!

If you’re looking for real deal, heartwarming Kansas City barbecue then this is the place to go. My two favorite things from here are the ribs and sausage. There are other items here as well that are pretty good. This hidden gem is one of the best spots on the map.

Came to the city for New Years 2026. Heard good things, so we ordered the Big platter, $100+. The lady at counter was good. However, the food!!! The only thing you could taste on the beef was the old left over taste. The chicken was over cooked which made it hard. It looked funny. The ribs did NOT fall off the bone and was almost tough with only lil flavor, the smoked ham was descent tho. The sides! I need to know why someone can serve mac n cheese that look and taste like that. It was garbage!! The Greeens, no seasoning at all!! And they messed up the order cause i ordered coleslaw not greens…
Needless to say, i was super duper disappointed… spent my last lil dollars to eat good and they played me! Big time. Check your food before you leave. If i had, i would have SEEN what they served me. Big T’s, Yall should try and do better all across the board. Sorry to have to write this, but this wasnt right.

Mothers Day and they’re super packed. The floors are so slippery with grease that I actually fell on my face trying to get some salt for my unseasoned fries. The pork was fatty and I couldn’t eat it. We got our food before we got our drink and our food did not change me quick.

The best bbq I’ve ever had! I’m from Atlanta and honestly the south has nothing in this delicious food! Worth every penny! The portions are enormous! We had the Southern Sandwich & you’ve got to try the cheesy corn and baked potato casserole!
