I’m extremely disappointed by the experience my friend and I had at this bar. The way staff treated my friend felt openly racist and completely unacceptable. No one should feel singled out or disrespected because of who they are, and it was shocking to see that kind of behavior happening so casually.
A bar should be a welcoming place for everyone, and this one failed badly. Because of what we experienced, I will not be returning and I do not support this establishment. I hope the owners seriously reflect on this and make real changes so others don’t have to go through the same thing.

Stopped in unexpectedly after my car broke down last night, and I’m so glad I did. The bartender was incredibly kind — let me charge my phone and made me a great drink. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and I even ended up making a few new friends. Even the security guard wanted to help out. Truly restored my faith in humanity. Highly recommend this place!

Seems like it gets lots of business so of course the bartender’s are too cool. Busy talking about side work or bar gossip or just general complaining before they look up and smile, “what can I getcha?”. Who cares though. It’s spacious. The crowd was mixed ages. Despite the ‘grandmas house’ vibe, it has a lot to offer. This would be good for a group but also good for an individual who likes sitting at long bars and talking to strangers.

Really great bartenders and service, Mickey, there is great along with all of the other bartenders too. Fast, awesome service, stiff drinks, great vibe, NA options, too, espresso, martini on draft, and believe it or not their burgers are freaking bomb. I will come here every day for the rest of my life! Over 100 years old!

Awesome staff! Try everything on the menu! Prime rib night is Wednesday $26- worth it! ALSO good happy hour (and brunch is apparently Sat & Sun 11:30 – 3:00 PM, but I haven’t tried that yet.)

If you were in bar. Security guy checked your ID immediately and he puts the stamp on your wrist. When you got a stamp on your wrist they didn’t check your ID anymore that night. music sounds so loud. Very crowded place because they opened the bar at late night. Only few places opened at midnight. This place is a very popular. Beers were cold enough and fresh. Order some foods are difficult and tough because bar staffs were so busy and crowded. They seemed like a super busy.

Based on my experiences, you go here to get permissibly hammered with your buds in a third space, or to one of the events they put on, you do not go here to get good or cheap food or drink. I spent the same amount for two people having a drink and a burger at SH as I did for brunch at SD down the street, and that seems bananas.
This is a dive bar, through and through; the pours are heavy, and I’d go here again to sit and chat to a friend over a pint outside and people watch, because the vibe can actually be better than other bars in walking distance. There is a massive projector screen and a pool table, as well as some electronic gambling and game machines.

In anticipation of a 100th Anniversary event, we dropped in for a preview on a day that would be less busy. WOW! Delicious, hearty food in great portions, and solid drinks. For our specific visit, compliments to the brunch chef (Aimee) and our bartender (Jordan).
