I happened to be in Fort Pierce for a training class and went downtown to find breakfast before my class.. what I found was Sunrise City Cafe… amazing staff greeted me and started me off with some fresh hot coffee… my 1st glance at the menu and I knew what I wanted. French Toast with peaches and blueberries eggs and sausage.. omg the grits
The best grits hands-down that I ever had for French toast was simply amazing. The eggs sunny side up were cooked to perfection. I so enjoyed the breakfast here my server Jayden was so sweet. I definitely will be coming back here in this place is definitely. Oh yeah certified.
I will be letting my nephew Josh, who does food reviews. Josheats FL. He would love this place

I don’ write reviews often unless we experienced five star service. Sunrise cafe fits the bill. Visited two Sundays in a row and brought other family members. Food is excellent – never had shrimp and grits before so I tried it – awesome. Second time had the skillet and that was great too. Just the right size without wasteful excess. Service is amazing – we had Madi and Mariah and others working our table in unison. Food came out incredibly fast and extremely attentive. Our favorite breakfast place from now on. Prices are extremely reasonable and the selections will suit any preference. PS – try the fried green tomatoes – they were great if you like FGT.

This is by far one of the most popular restaurants in Fort Pierce and for good reason. The food and service is excellent and quick. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Highly recommend their specialty coffees! Only issue is that the wait outside is in the elements and not ideal in the direct sun.

River of Life Fellowship “Divine Diners” invaded the cafe yesterday morning around 10am. There were 13 or 14 in our group. Miraculously (even though they had an active stream of patrons) they seated us all together. Our waitstaff, Cindy, was absolutely amazing. The majority of us were grey haired seniors and she was patient, pleasant and accurate. The food was timely and delicious. Thank you Sunrise City Cafe and Cindy for accommodating us and making our monthly fellowship enjoyable.

I’ve been around the country a couple of times and let me tell you that this place offers the best Shrimp & Grits I’ve ever had and I’ve had quite a few from various places across the country. They were incredible and I highly recommend getting them. Put your name on the list and wait, I promise you it’s worth it.
Update: Came in for the shrimp and grits and was very disappointed to see that they changed the portion size to be much smaller and now they are serving the dish in black plastic skillets. I guess I’ll have to ask for it to be served in the glass/ceramic dish so I’m not eating micro plastics with my breakfast. Removed a star for the disappointment.

Another place that we have talked about trying and just hadn’t. We finally did and it didn’t disappoint! The only negative I would give is it is a bit loud inside, but it was busy. The food was fantastic, so many options. I am not a traditional breakfast person, i like burritos and bowls and skillets etc and there are many to chose from. Excellent service as well! We will be back!

We had a great breakfast of eggs Benedict and mushroom & steak omelet. Reasonably priced. We were able to walk in and have a table. Excellent service. Very cute place. After about 9:00 there can be a little bit of a wait but worth it to us.

The food was amazing… what’s even better… the SERVICE was phenomenal!! The manager runs a tight shift there! The manager was sitting ppl, clearing tables refilling drinks, each server passed by to ask us if we need anything… all of them!! Very impressive. The chorizo avocado breakfast tacos with grits was nothing short of amazing delicious mouthwatering flavors!! It’s definitely a repeat for us!!!!

We would give this place 10 stars if we could but we can’t so, five stars it is. We’re not local to the area so we relied on Google maps and their reviews to find us a good breakfast place. In this circumstance, the reviews were spot on.
So, I would describe this café as elevated breakfast fare (Think… First watch) at a more reasonable price.
As for the staff, from start to finish, I don’t think I’ve seen a more attentive team at any other restaurant that we’ve patronized.
Last, but certainly not least the food was phenomenal. Presentation was perfect, and the dishes were unique and full of flavor.
This is our new go to breakfast place when we are in the Fort Pierce area.
