The atmosphere is cool and the service staff are awesome. But what they call carne assada isn’t carniosada?It seems like skirt steak.That’s been cut into small pieces.It’s not a very good quality. A super expensive meal if you decide to go I have a family of 7. It’s ridiculous. The worst part is, they got lippy, with the sumass residence and asked why they weren’t showing up to buy their food.Well, that’s on you guys figure it out. You cost too much, and the food’s not that great.

The atmosphere is kind of fun, especially if there is singing or karaoke going on. We always make a stop here at El Nopal after our long hikes or climbs near Sumas border. Just before heading back to Vancouver we always make sure stop for lunch or dinner and wrap up the day with delicious and good quality food. Try Express Burrito and Chicken Steak Fajitas very tasty and satisfying.

Waitress was downright rude. No smiles. No pleasantries. When we almost finished slammed bill down on table and walked away even though had a question. Food is pretty good. But the waitress almost completely killed the desire to ever go back

The food is simply exceptional with tons of flavour. Dishes shown are Acapulco Steak (with garlic prawns, rice, beans and salad) and Enchiladas Suizas (with rice and beans). Lots of food…you will be full if you finish. Great, fast service. Large parking lot out front and many seating options. The food isn’t cheap, but good value for taste and amount. Worth making the effort to stop here!

We’ve been coming here since the 90’s and have watched them grow from a little restaurant to where they are today.
They always give your money’s worth and it’s always favorable.
I tried the Carne Asada it was full of flavor very well made totally recommend it.
My wife had the Chicken Enchiladas and Chicken Chimichanga which was huge and very filling.
We ended with the Fried Icecream with Caramel sauce, yummers.
We come from Canada to here because it’s worth the drive for us because it’s right near
Abbotsford BC.
Just a note after I received my Canada visa
Bill I saw that the $62.42 meal actually cost me $86.37 because of exchange rate that’s $24.00 more so be prepared for a higher price because of the exchange rate.

Always good! When I can’t afford a trip to Southern California I head to Sumas!
Update: it’s been too long and I have missed Margaritas and really good Mexican food! Dinner out after a long day at work.

El Nopal has been a family favourite since I was a child and every visit makes you want to return as soon as possible. When you sit, you get warm chips with salsa. Their salsa is one of the best and the pico de gallo is fresh and delicious. The service is always great and very fast, and the food is delicious. This is my favourite Mexican restaurant and I’m already looking forward to my next meal there.
