The food was great ! But unfortunately….
The service needs improvement. Our waitress could have been more attentive and friendlier—maybe she was having a bad day. Most of the staff spent a lot of time gathered near the hostess stand chatting and even singing like if we were in a karaoke instead of checking on tables. We had to flag our waitress down multiple times, and it felt like we were being ignored. Better focus on the customers would really improve the experience.

Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.
The portion sizes were on the smaller side, but that wasn’t an issue for our party. The problem began when our waitress brought the check and we noticed that two identical items were priced differently. When we pointed it out, she made it clear she was upset. She later returned and claimed the manager had “fixed” the issue and removed the charge.
To our surprise, the bill came back higher than before. Not only was the issue not resolved—it was made worse. At that point, we went directly to the manager, as our waitress was avoiding us. The manager said the difference was an “upcharge,” yet had no explanation when we pointed out that this supposed upcharge only appeared after we raised the concern.
The food was good, but the service from both the waitress and the manager was enough to deter us from returning any time soon.

The carne asada dinner was really great. It came with a little guacamole, flour or corn tortillas, pico, rice and beans. It was cooked perfectly and served hot. Simple and to the point.

Our experience at Mr. Tequila was absolutely amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The portions were generous, and everything tasted authentic and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better.

We were a party of 18 and we all got served fast and the people were super amicable!
Food was fantastic, it’s not cheap but at least the plates are a good size and the food is delicious!

The quality of the dishes offered is always my primary concern and on this count Mr. Tequila has never disappointed. They offer truly authentic and generous meals. Tuesday taco night is a regular for us and has been for over a decade. The Yolanda combination is amazing. Service is the challenge. The crew just doesn’t do much to make you feel welcome from the time you enter until you leave. Waiting for extra water and salsa is a consistent issue. Lastly, the store itself is in urgent need of a refreshing. Tired floors, booths, chairs and walls are a distraction and the bathrooms need a total do over. I will continue to return as long as the food quality remains but would be hard pressed to bring friends. Hope they can step up their look : (

I got carnitas and they were delicious.
However…
My sister got fish tacos and they didn’t have much fish in them. Mostly fish skin and a few small chunks of filet.
Her husband got arroz con pollo and it was disappointing to look at. There was no side of beans, lettuce, pico, tortillas etc. There was literally one (1) chicken breast over a bed of rice. I’ve honestly never seen such a bland looking arroz com pollo.
Their 5 yr old and 3 yr kids old ate his food and the 5 yr old said it was good but the chicken was “a little dry and crunchy-dunchy”. The 3 yr old wouldn’t even eat the chicken at all but enjoyed the rice.
The salsa was as good and the service was alright. Restaurant was a little louder than the average but nothing absurd.
Our total came to $81 for 3 meals and 3 fountain drinks. Not terrible prices but the portions were definitely a little smaller than most Mexican restaurants so it seems a little overpriced.
If a friend asked I would recommend this just for the carnitas but advise them to read reviews before ordering anything else to see what other people like 🙂

Well I came to eat something cause I was starving, first thing when I walk in there was this horrible smell like the they mopped the floor with dirty water. Order food my waitress could be more friendly don’t know she doesn’t like her job or what but when she brought the food she didn’t inform us that the plates were extremely hot and I touched it and burnt my hard…(also she kinda slammed them on the table), another thing the food was really disappointing I was expecting more (there was barely any salsa, guacamole, the cheese was like cheap cheese, also the beef tasted like Taco Bell beef…in that case I should’ve just go to Taco Bell and it was cheaper the aguas were good but that’s it.
