I went there, for the first time, with my best friend who wanted to treat me for my birthday. He’s been there many times and he was raving about the taste of the food, saying it has a flavor of flowers .
He wasn’t wrong, either.
I thought I noted a taste of blossoms in my shrimp dish. I don’t know, it might just be the power of suggestion, but in any case, I really enjoyed my meal.
A couple fateful days ago I ACCIDENTALLY drove 12 minutes to BOMBAY BISTRO when I had instructed GPS to navigate to BAMBOO BISTRO Chinese, where they have only 2 dishes I love. I guess it’s a frequent mistake and BAMBOO is closer in than BOMBAY so they are getting a lot of BOMBAY bound diners.
(BOMBAY – is only about about 1/4 to 1/2 mile further north on 441 from Lady Lake Lowe’s and Tropical Smoothie. GPS will take you right to their, close, super ample, handicap accessible parking area.)
They were doing industrial cleaning inside and out but squeezed my very excited bootie in for an order to go. I took home appetizer: CHICKEN 65 (4 star), entrees: LAMB TIKKA MASALA (4 star), SHRIMP KORMA (3 star), and BUTTER CHICKEN (2 star). also got garlic NAAN and as a special request, which they were delighted to honor, an order of ONION NAAN. Then, the joy-sustaining yumminess of SHRIMP BIRYANI (3 star) and LAMB BIRYANI (4 star).
The results:
MOUTH-WATERING DELICIOUSNESS!!!
Typically | find overcooked, dry, stringy meats at the majority of Indian diners BUT these guys at BOMBAY served PERFECTLY MOIST meats as scrumptiously tastebud delighting as they were romantically aromatic. 0ooh….the ahhhs neighbors!
The Chef, does distinctly accurate saucing. I’d go so far as to get him a “SAUCE-MASTER” T-shirt.
Their 5 STAR spice preference range gives YOU the choice.
The place isn’t fancy, it’s more like home-casual atmosphere. Nothing romantic here but TO-GO orders are excellently packaged, hot and ready to sneak nibbles on your way back to the family.
They offer a small lunch buffet that reviewers give high marks. Their soft opening 7 months ago came with only paper plates and plastic utinsels but NOW they have their dishwasher and CAFETERIA STYLE PLATES, BOWLS AND METAL UTINSEL..FYI.
The FOOD is consitently DELICIOUS. Every last item! The meats were cooked expertly the spicing was accurate and reliable. The staff were well mannered and agreeable, obviously wanting to please. Ask for “K”. (Yes, just “K”.) Tell him Montana sent you for a super yummy experience ENJOY and please pass the word. (The word is BOMBAY – NOT BAMBOO.)
Tonight, we ordered the White Russian and asked for a surprise roll, which ended up being the Rock and Roll (chef called it Tsunami).
Hands down our favorite sushi restaurant.
We ordered the beef skewers which were flavorless. I mean not a hint of flavor. So we ordered a side of Korean BBQ sauce to go with it and it help another but even the sauce had an after taste that was not pleasant.
I also ordered the sweet and sour chicken ..the sauce was amazing the chicken were cutlets not seasoned but fried nicely. It came with Jasmin rice standard.
Next we had the Mongolian beef which came with a help of onions. This dish is amazing bursting with flavor and very filling.
