What an amazing surprise! From the outside it looks small, but once you walk in, wow, it’s so much bigger inside, and the food is even bigger in flavor! This was my first visit, but definitely not my last.
The food is absolutely delicious and made with love. My husband ordered the Gumbolaya, and let me tell you, it was the ! I’ll be getting that next time for sure. The cornbread came out hot with soft, melting butter, perfection!
The mango iced tea was super refreshing, and the service was friendly, kind, and full of positive energy. It felt like being welcomed into a family kitchen.
My mother-in-love cleaned her plate (which says a lot!) and my husband left full and happy, that’s a win all around!
And best of all, it’s Black-owned by a chef from New Orleans, right here in Parker! If you’re looking for food made with love, spice, and soul, look no further. Stop by Jessie’s Smokin Nola
The flavors were bold and authentic, and every bite was delicious. The portions were great and the quality of the food really stood out. It’s the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you can come back again.
Huge compliments to Jessie for creating such a great experience. If you’re in the area and want food that truly hits the spot, I highly recommend stopping by Jessie’s Smokin’ NOLA. You won’t regret it!
Unfortunately, my last visit was extremely disappointing. The catfish had a very off, funky taste to it. I can’t fully describe it, but it did not taste fresh and something was clearly wrong. It was bad enough that even my child. Who normally loves the food here. Wouldn’t eat it.
I called to let them know, and I was told to bring it back so the owner/supervisor could taste it and decide. That honestly grossed me out. The idea of someone sampling questionable food to judge whether it was bad felt disgusting and made me question food handling practices overall.
I’m really disappointed because I’ve genuinely enjoyed this place for a while. I hope this was just a one-time issue, but after this experience, I’m hesitant to return.
However, my wife and I didn’t even order dessert or alcohol and my bill was over $95.
Portions were on the smaller side as well.
Overall, though the food was delicious, this Louisiana boy will be spending that $100 on groceries and doing my own fish fry from now on.
