For a Caribbean restaurant to fall off like this is honestly embarrassing. Mona’s food has gone to the dogs.
$80 for watered-down curry? Nearly $20 for a tiny 263ml container of curry shrimp? That’s beyond ridiculous it’s disrespectful. The portions are laughable, the flavour is bland, and the quality has clearly declined.
How do you charge these prices and serve food that can barely feed two people? Customers work hard for their money, and this feels like straight-up taking people for fools.
I don’t know when things got this bad, but I won’t be back. At this point, it’s not just disappointing it’s offensive.

Still after so many years I have tried Mona’s roti, they were still very good and it makes me feel grateful to have a place like this in Toronto.
Got dahl puri goat roti and a double and enjoyed every bite!

Been going to Mona’s for years, roti is always fresh as it is made on-site. A variety or curries and others treats also sold here. The staff is always friendly. Beat to order ahead of time if you can, it can get busy lunch time and xan be a bit of a wait, but hey thats just how life is sometimes.

Very tasty and flavourful.
It’s my go-to spot in Scarborough.

This place is a well oiled machine. As soon as we entered a staff member with an iPad in her hand approached us to take our order. The doubles we ordered were well balanced with the sweet and sour of the tamarind sauce with heat from the pepper sauce. It is an open kitchen and you can see everyone making or preparing food fresh to order. Parking is such a pain in this plaza so bring lots of patience…

Okay so I will go back to try other items but for me the chicken roti was very plain.. I got the hot sauce but you need to toss some curry gravy in there or something. Its just so meh. But I will be back and change my rating if i can alter it or add something. Also not a big fan of cut potatoes, I prefer mashed but its on me for not asking.

I’ve been here countless times and it’s always been good quality food. This time I went for the Ox Tail for the first time and it was really flavorful, but you can’t go wrong with anything here. The rotis and doubles are especially good. It can get busy at times… especially Friday afternoons, so try to avoid those otherwise the wait can be long

Drove over an hour to try this place based on the great reviews, but unfortunately, we were disappointed. Ordered the boneless chicken curry dhal puri wrap, and while it was tasty, the portion size for $14 + tax was small. The curry was overly saucy, which made the wrap messy as the thin gravy dripped everywhere and soaked through the delicate thin flatbread. There were no seats, just high bar tables, and no extra napkins on the table. The server took our order in the front but also kept pushing additional items, which felt a bit much. Given the price point, I don’t think we will be returning for a second visit.

Went and tried their doubles.
Each vege doubles was 3 bucks.
Flavor spice and texture was amazing. Doubles were soft even after I microwaved them 12 hours later

The food here is on point. The jerk chicken and goat Roti is some of the best in the city. The Doubles are very good as well.
Order ahead if you can get through or expect to wait. This place is always busy! Also parking can be a bit of a challenge as well specially in the winter as it is a very busy plaza. Overall worth the wait!
