Hi. Ever since I was a kid, our family has been dining here. I’m now 30 years old, and this place has always been one of our favorites. In fact, we’ve already dined here twice this year, 2026.
However, during our visit last night, March 9, 2026, during dinner time, we noticed that the taste of the food seemed different from what we used to enjoy. We also observed that many of the staff appear to be new. Unfortunately, the service felt different from what we were used to. The staff were not as friendly as before, and we noticed that they were not very welcoming or smiling, which used to be something we always appreciated whenever we dined here.
This restaurant has always been known for its great food and warm service, which is why we were quite disappointed with our recent experience. Perhaps it may also be related to the new staff adjusting to the environment.
It might help if the restaurant implements a customer satisfaction feedback system and identifies the staff who served each table. This could help management better monitor service quality and maintain the restaurant’s good reputation.
Another concern we experienced was when we reported that there was a fly in our food. The staff member immediately asked whether the fly was already there when the dish was served or if it appeared after serving, which came across as somewhat accusatory. While we understand that clarification may be necessary, the tone and way the question was asked did not feel appropriate when addressing a customer concern. There may be other ways to verify the situation, such as checking CCTV, but the manner of communication could have been handled more professionally.
I’m sharing this feedback because Cafe Lidia has always been a place we genuinely enjoyed dining at, and I truly hope that when we return, the food quality and service will once again reflect the standard we’ve always loved.

The name says it’s a cafe, but the atmosphere felt more like a family restaurant. When I ate here on a holiday morning, there were a lot of other customers, mostly in groups and families. The food was very tasty and had a very rich flavor, and the service and interior ambiance were great.
The food I ordered had a very rich, umami flavor that most Filipinos would appreciate.
➢The Beef Salpicao was really tasty. The beef was very tender and soft, although a bit oily. The vegetables were cooked just right.
➢The Chicken Angelito was delicious, but very creamy. The chicken itself had a good texture.
➢I really liked the mushroom soup. It was served hot and delicious.
➢The mashed potato was decent.
Their service was great. Despite having so many customers, they served our order surprisingly fast. The staff were also nice and attentive.
The ambiance was also great. There were a lot of seats and customers, but it didn’t feel cramped. The atmosphere was more like a family restaurant than a cafe, which made it feel comfortable.
Overall, this is a great place to eat with your family or friends, especially for groups.

Really disappointed with the steak chimichurri. Look how sad the steak is! Can’t believe i paid 850 for a thinly sliced steak. Very tapa like. different from the photo advertised. Well, as you can see in the photo that i posted. Overpriced steak. Better to just order the best seller buffalo wings. Pasta was okay so as the nachos.

We arrived about an hour before their last call and were a bit worried that we might not be entertained anymore. To our surprise, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The service was superb—our orders started arriving one by one just 5 to 10 minutes after being placed.
The ambiance also deserves a special mention. It has that cozy, homey feeling. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, Café Lydia always feels like a familiar, comforting place to dine.

Great service and homey ambiance (a bit dated). We loved the buffalo wings, garlic trio pizza, and honey butter drizzled chicken and chips. Rib eye steak and tenderloin were so-so but affordable. Caramel fizz was too sweet. Decent amount of parking.
