Did not care for the service too much. The waitress seemed distracted and confrontational when given my order. I had to request my order three times before she even acknowledged me. Although I waited until it was my turn to order. She forgot my order. Every time she returned to our table I would remind her of my order. Then she argued with me in a sarcastic manner as if she hadn’t forgot my original order when in fact she did and confused it with someone else at our table.

Try this place it’s exciting to watch your food be cooked right in front of your eye’s! Everybody enjoys the fire rise up as he offered shots shoot into your mouth. Also very organized of which food goes to who never a mistake. They read your order prior to cooking it as he continues.

The calamari was like eating rubber. I ordered hibachi steak, rare. It was well done and chewy. I couldn’t even eat any of the meat. My server never came back to see how the food was when he brought soup. It was lukewarm. I’ve had this server before it’s not my first time eating here, but it will definitely be my last. You might as well go to some $15 Chinese buffet that doesn’t exist in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

I’ve come to really enjoy this place while working in the Carlsbad area. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff is friendly enough, service is fairly quick, and it’s not overpriced considering the area (everything here is overpriced in general).

Sushi was pretty good. I gave a 4 because the seaweed was super fishy. Onion soup starter was great with little crispy onions. Tuna sushi was huge pieces. Spicy tuna roll had a great flavor with a crispy outer coating. Vegetable roll was good, but seaweed was too fishy. Service was great.

The lunch menu was full sized and delicious. The sushi was very good. Service was excellent, restaurant clean and comfortable. I had the teriyaki beef and it was absolutely delicious. It came with onion soup, the flavor was out of this world. If I lived in Carlsbad I’d make Tokyo a weekly lunch spot.

I had never been to a restaurant were the food was prepared in front of me! It was delicious, but the scallops I had were not the best, (they were still pretty decent). I enjoyed seeing the skill of the chef and the server was able to see the needs of everyone at the grill with considerable aptitude!
