We will be back to try the crispy tacos.
Service was friendly and helpful, though things were a little slow when it got busy. Still, the staff stayed attentive once we got their attention. Prices are a bit on the higher end for a casual spot, but you’re paying for the experience too — good music, a nice bar, and a cool setting.
Overall, I’d go back for the drinks, apps, and the energy of the place. A good spot to meet up with friends or kick off a weekend evening.
My wife and I have been loyal customers of Cantina Gueros, dining here three to four times a month for the past two years. Until tonight, we’ve always had great food, great service, and great experiences.
Tonight, that changed completely.
As we were leaving, our waitress and an employee named Johnny were sitting at a table getting ready for the next day’s shift. Out of nowhere, Johnny looked up and said:
“Don’t come back here.”
I stopped, completely shocked, and asked, “Excuse me? Why would you say that?”
Johnny’s response?
“Oh, I’m sorry. Wasn’t that funny?”
No, it wasn’t funny. It was disrespectful, uncalled for, and downright unprofessional.
To make matters worse, Johnny followed us out to our car trying to explain himself, saying, “I don’t know why I said that. I thought it would be funny.” Then he added, “Come on, I apologized — why are you still mad?”
A quick “sorry” doesn’t undo the words you chose or the lack of respect you showed.
Moments later, the manager came outside, apologizing and saying the waitress told him he should check on the situation. But by then, it was too late — the damage was done.
Johnny, you got your wish. We won’t be coming back. You’re lucky I was wearing a work shirt — or this might’ve gone very differently.
It’s incredibly disappointing, because this was one of our favorite local spots. We were genuinely happy to have found a solid Mexican restaurant near our home.
Cantina Gueros, I expected better — especially after recently seeing you on the news celebrating your anniversary. This is not how you treat regulars who’ve supported you for years.
Johnny, whatever’s going on in your life, I hope you find peace and realize that taking it out on customers isn’t the way.
Tonight’s experience was unprofessional, unnecessary, and completely unacceptable.
Updated Review:
After my initial experience, I was contacted directly by the owner who personally reached out to address what had happened. I really appreciate how seriously they took the situation and how quickly it was handled. It’s clear they care about their customers and their reputation.
Everyone can have an off night, but how a business responds makes all the difference — and in this case, they made it right. I’m glad to see that level of accountability and respect.
Arrived for a late lunch. 2:50 pm on a Wednesday.
Waited a minute for someone to see me, was seated on bar, as requested.
Bill followed me to my choice of seating and gave me menus. He also took my drink order and when I chose the prickly pear margarita. He said they have the best!! He immediately arrived back with my drink. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Shortly after, a young lady offered salsa and chips. I wasn’t ready to offer, so she gave me a few minutes.
It was actually a little longer than a few minutes. I had to flag her down to get my order placed.
Food arrived shortly after. 8-10mins maybe. Food was hot.
I was a little disappointed at the ‘gringo tacos’. Instead of freshly deep fried tortilla shells, they are pre cooked, for lack of a better word. The kind you buy off the shelf at the grocery store. They were warm but not a freshly fried corn tortilla.
I chose the babacola filling. My preference is always, shredded beef.
But with that said, I enjoyed it. The meat was a little too chunky for my preference, but it was good.
The rice and beans were ok. The rice seemed to have a sweet taste to it.
Overall, I would & will return for future visits.
Service was good. Prices seemed a little high, I didn’t check the bill, just signed it. It was $24 for a drink and 2 tacos with sides.
I’ll be using a coupon next time I go.
We got a kids meal (quesadilla and french fries) and a lunch special (2 tacos, rice and beans). It wasn’t anything too special. Food was overall mediocre. I asked for hot sauce (thinking they’d have a house hot sauce) and they brought me a bottle of something.
Service was good, but we didn’t get any refills at all and were left thirsty with chips and salsa.
It was about $18 plus a tip for our food. I’d say that’s fair.
