The food would have been ok if served hot and the pasta was totally overcooked. I know it was busy but when charging appropriate prices then the quality has to match. Also it was very cold downstairs as if the heating wasn’t working. The salad plates were the cheapest ones from a dollar store. Steak knives were set for eating fish and shrimp and no appetizer plates were given for shared appetizers. Not even a serving spoon for the calamari appetizer. Our server might have been new or not very well trained yet. So altogether not a good experience for an upscale restaurant like this.

The food was amazing. Delicious really! The service was okay. The 3 star is because we ordered a bunch of appetizers and one of the appetizers never made it out. I figured that’s okay maybe he didn’t hear me order that one and just figured we had enough appetizers and he was busy so I just let it be. Well…. lol while eating dessert he brings the appetizer out wrapped up to take home. At this point of course I dont want it lol…. he thought I should pay for the appetizer that he forgot to bring out. WILD

Recently my girlfriend and I went to “Encore by Goodfellas” in New Haven. (Trumbull and State Street intersection) for a well deserved time spent together. The staff went above and beyond to make our evening memorable.
Our dining experience was delightful from start to finish. From the kind and inviting hostess who greeted us in, to the lovely live band we could hear coming from upstairs.. we knew we found a great place.
We introduced ourselves to our waiter as fans of Gerry, the chef, due to our devoted following on Facebook and Instagram.
Moments later, we were introduced to him! “What’s up braciole” Such a humble and personable person he is!
The food is really outstanding! Every menu item we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Starting with a salad (enough for the two of us!) with butter lettuce and including glazed walnuts, small cubed beets, avocado slices and a delicious dressing.. quite good!
For entrees.. I suggest the Lamb and the Beggars Purse Pasta.
Hands down, some of the most delicious food we have eaten lately!
Mostly kudos to our waiter, Angel, for caring for our every need without being intrusive. A true and kind professional.
Highly recommended. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Went for a holiday work dinner with 5 people.
20 minutes to order drinks, anther 20 to get them. Multiple waiters coming to the the table. Apps were ordered 20 minutes. The apps were not even on the table and we were asked to order dinner. Food came warm not hot. One person questioned his meal, the waiter took out his cell phone to show he was wrong. Another order was place and basically tossed on the table with nothing said. My food had no flavor. Very dark where we sat, not many people upstairs. Nice piano music. Would not recommend.

10/10 recommend. This restaurant and its service is ALWAYS top notch. I actually left The Cast Iron Chop House after a cold appetizer to come here and finish my dining experience for the evening. Frank is absolutely amazing, and his Lemon Drop Martinis match! Thank you for once again making my visit exceptional. Their pre-fixe menu is an every day option that I highly recommend, you truly won’t regret it. Perfect establishment for celebrations, birthdays or even just a date night or some girl time. They also offer live entertainment as well which is usually the perfect touch.

Absolutely loved our experience at Encore by Goodfellas! The live piano music created such a refined and relaxing atmosphere, truly a highlight of the night. The ambiance overall was elegant and inviting, perfect for a special evening. We started with the octopus appetizer, which was beautifully cooked and flavorful. For mains, we had the salmon and the steak, both were excellent. We finished with the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was simply incredible, the perfect end to a perfect meal.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, elegant ambiance, and a touch of live music to make the evening memorable.

What can i say u felt welcomed the moment we stepped in and our server zack was so attentive and friendly after dinner we went downstairs to the bar and the bartender made us drinks and although i dont think i asked him his name hes been there awhile when the bar was on the other side lol but kudos to you and your pleasant staff i will come back!

The place is beautifully decorated and the food is just okay. The service is trash. The waiter Oscar catered to the white people at the table next to us. The man didn’t even finish his soda and Oscar placed another one in front of him without him asking for one but we had to ask for refills. I see from reviews this business doesn’t take these complaints about being stereotyped due to race seriously because Oscar is still employed after numerous complaints so I will not be coming back and I suggest any person of color to go somewhere else. New Haven is full of wonderful options.
