Rangoon Ruby goes the extra mile to bring a delightful dining …
Reviews
First time to try Myanmar food. Rangoon Ruby offers a surprisingly vibrant Burmese cuisine that is flavorful with a play of spices.
The lady staff was friendly and gave excellent recommendations. Service was prompt and efficient.
The standout was the Pork curry which was rich and succulent… somewhat similar to a Rendang. The biryani rice went well as a partner
The restaurant had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The ambiance is charming with simple but tasteful decor.
Prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
Service: Servers are welcoming and friendly. I wasn’t able to get the name of the one who assisted us but I appreciate it when he explained to us the contents of the tea salad while mixing it for us. On the other hand, 4-star for service as they didn’t include the vinegar dip for our take home calamares even when the server clearly told me that he’ll just give us a new serving of it when I attempted to pass to him the dip that came with the calamares on our table.
Atmosphere: The first table that we seated in is in an area of the restaurant that is not well ventilated, I’m not sure why because the place is air conditioned. We then transferred to another table recommended by the staff where it feels more comfortable.
They are located beside BBQ chicken and near the YABU exit.
We will definitely be back and recommend it here. Hoping for this restaurant’s success, we wish they’ll stay at festival mall forever haha
From the food to the service, this place was a pleasant surprise. Firstly, it helps that their menu offers small portion sizes because it allows you to try multiple dishes (and they will not break the bank either). We also had some food allergies (peanuts and seafood) and other restrictions (acidity) that were no problem since the staff were extremely helpful with recommendations to cater to our needs.
Some personal standouts for me were the Rangoon Chicken Curry and the Mint and Pepper Chicken. Make sure to also try their Coconut Rice (on the sweeter side, go for Jasmine if you want a blank canvas for the flavorful food) and the Burmese Tea (can be hot when requested) for a unique dining experience.
Would definitely come back. Thank you to Ms. Candy and the rest of the staff for such warm hospitality and support throughout our stay. Great food aside, it was great learning about Burmese cuisine and how Rangoon Ruby catered it to Filipino palettes while still respecting the origin of the food.
We tried their fiest for 2 where you can choose 1 appetizer (palatha), 2 rice (ordered burmese indian rice and coconut rice), 1 main course (garlicky pork), pistachio samosa(?). We also ordered their samosa
Food was great! We wanted to try the pork belly curry but it was not available probably because it was a bit late (7pm).
The coconut rice tasted sweet and it was the perfect for the garlicky pork. The burmese rice tasted like biryani rice – it was good on its own but does not complement the main entree.
Their samosa was not what we expected. We are used to the samosa with pastry bread. Their samosa was made from some kind of lumpia wrapper with sweet and sour sauce on the side. It still tasted good.
Our dessert was not prepared on time so we opted to had it to go.
Overall a great experience and we plan to go back and try their other dishes
