Old-fashioned American eats from burgers to BBQ in a space modeled after an antique train.

OMGoodness. What a delightful surprise. I am almost reluctant to share this info. We are from out-of-town, and dropped in to Billy’s for lunch. What we selected was the “California Chicken Salad”. WOW – the presentation of this salad is gorgeous. The taste of everything in it is spectacular. We ate as much of it at lunch, with enough left over for lunch the next day. We will travel back there from home to experience it again. The total cost per person, including soft-drinks and 20% tip was $30/person. It was so worth it.

My wife and I come over for drinks or food when we want to go out late. We’ve tried a variety of dishes and the food is fine. I’ve had very good foods and some subpar items but one thing is certain, when they stick to classic bar or pub food like burgers or fried foods (the onion loaf, or calamari) they hit the mark and we leave satisfied. I always prefer a restaurant be recognized for its core items than one item I may not have enjoyed.
The highlights to me of Billy McHales is the drink/beer selection, the staff and the atmosphere.
I love the pool tables and small arcade selection inside. They’ve also got a good selection of brews on tap from light, dark and amber.
The staff are friendly and check in often on how you are doing especially at the bar.
If you’re looking for a good drink, I day stop in and check it out.

I have been a regular customer here for over twenty years, coming in at least once , sometimes two or three times a month. I enjoy most of the employees , and the food is always consistently good. I did have to take a few stars though…. and here’s why…
I love their ranch dressing and I often pay for extra when I do take out but i’m not charged for extra when I dine in usually. Unless I want to take some home and it’s usually an extra couple of dollars.
Recently, though, the manager who has been there for many years, has decided. It’s cute to charge me $5.95 for a 5 oz side of ranch.
I don’t mind paying for it, but this seems excessive.Especially for a customer that has been coming for over twenty years.
It’s Probably not going to stop me coming, Because I have my certain things i definitely crave and enjoy there , but it is very disappointing.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Federal Way. We came in on Sunday and watched part of the NFC Championship game. They have lots of screens in the restaurant and bar. We got the onion loaf as an appetizer. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the prime rib dip, and my wife had the Philly cheese steak sandwich. My sister-in-law had the turkey club. Everything was served hot and fast. All the sandwiches were overloaded with meat and the club had thick lean bacon. The server was very friendly and accommodating. We come here about once a month and have never been disappointed.

Excellent dining experience. The food was above average and the staff was superb! Billy McHale’s has always been a great place to eat! Even my picky eater sister was impressed! And our fellow patrons we’re great to hang with.

First time here! Staff was very attentive, kind, and helpful. The food was very fresh and came out nice and hot! Portion sizes were very generous. Lots of seating. There was a sign up bonus when we came in. Nice place for a family dinner. The hand made mozzarella sticks were delicious!

Billy McHale’s has one of those happy hours that actually delivers. Great food and drink deals, including a $10 burger that’s hard to beat. The chicken wings were really good and well-seasoned, and the onion ring loaf is an absolute must-order. Solid portions, good value, and a fun spot to hang out. Definitely worth coming by for happy hour.

The manager here is atrocious. The last time I went, he harassed me about my service dog and said she was not wearing the proper vest. According to him, the FDA in King county requires a specific vest for service dogs. He could not provide where this information could be found when I asked. He continued to argue with me when I informed him that federal law does not require service dogs to wear a vest. He said next time he would not allow me to stay if my dog did not have the proper vest. I should note this is not the first time he’s given me a hard time about my service dog. I did check to see if King county and the FDA within King county had laws regarding vests and service dogs. I was not surprised to find that on both websites they stated specifically that they did not dictate for service dogs to wear any particular vest since federal law does not require service dogs to be vested. It also noted that businesses cannot ask to see certifications of service dogs. I did end up showing him her certificate that night because he didn’t seem to believe me that she was a service dog. I have filed a report with the ADA and I’m hoping that it will prompt him to rethink how he treats people with disabilities. He did this in front of several witnesses which was quite stressful for me and embarrassing. He initially asked what she was trained for and I did inform him he could ask about her tasks but not my disability. I informed him of the tasks that she was trained for when he started to berate me about her vest. I am more than happy to provide the links to both King county and the FDA within King county that specify that they do not require service dogs to wear specific vests because federal law does not require such a thing. He essentially made this up in order to give me a hard time about my dog’s vest. By the way, my dog’s vest says assistance dog instead of service dog. I should also point out that in Europe, they use the term assistance dog. My dog and I travel extensively so that’s how I know this information. If you have any disabled family members or are disabled yourself, beware that you may be discriminated against.

Food has went downhill I ordered a prime rib dip loaded and everything was cold, seemed like they made it & forgot to send it out. My friends margarita couldn’t be blended & the wings were meh need some seasoning. I hope this was just that night but eating out is not cheap, so you would HOPE they would at least try. I miss the old days when ppl cared about serving good food … only way I would return was because we had an amazing waitress, Loke. She was amazing
