I have to update my review from a couple of years ago because my buddy wanted Nando’s for his birthday lunch. The service is much better now than it was last time – they greet you coming through the door now and bring your food with a smile, and then they yelled thank you to us as we were leaving!
The food was better as well, but it is still teeny tiny portions for the price. I had to dig to find the pulled chicken on my CLT sandwich, but it was juicy and tender and very flavorful and the buns were soft and garlicy!
But $23 (including 15% tip) for a handful of fries and perhaps 2oz of pulled chicken and a bottle of water is pretty rough on the wallet.

This experience was INCREDIBLE. One of the BEST fusion restaurants ever; they have a mix of African and Portugese cuisine and my god, it was fantastic.
They have a wide selection of sauces, all of which are flavorful and enjoyable. I personally enjoyed the mild garlic sauce and the Peri-Ranch. My wrap was great, so was the rice and mac’n cheese. We got garlic sticks as an appetizer as well.
Service was super friendly and pleasant. We even ended up with a dessert on the house because of a serving mistake!
10/10 would recommend, we’ll be back!

We had some coupons gifted to us from work. Even though they were issued to the Ballston location, the manager gave us no hassle and gave us the discount at this Reston location. Staff was really nice and would check on us to see if everything was good and if we needed anything else.
This isn’t my 1st time at Nando’s but I haven’t visited one in years. Previously, we had never been spoken to apart from the person who was taking our order. It was a nice touch having someone make sure we were enjoying our meal.

Error Error
Was surprised by just how nice the interior of this restaurant was and the food was just perfect, 10/10 fries, 11/10 mashed potatoes (I didn’t even order it just had a couple bites and am still thinking about it days later), 10/10 garlic bread. We both got the Nandocas’ Choice sandwich spice level medium and they were great but I’d definitely say get spicier than you would at other restaurants the sandwich wasn’t spicy at all but luckily they have all their sauces available for free on the side (I love when restaurants offer sauce for free).

Always love eating here! The food is delicious, flavorful, and well portioned! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dining room is comfortable too. Ordering can be a bit confusing with so many ways to order when inside (table service, counter service, point of service screen, and mobile direct ordering); I just go up to the counter and let them place my order. If you’ve never had Nando’s, give it a try!

Came in today and ordered a half chicken extra hot. What arrived was just regular hot. Not the end of the world—until we politely said something. From the kitchen, a short cook in a purple shirt was loudly arguing about what the difference is between hot and extra hot and yelling at the waiter like we personally offended her ancestors. Super professional. Love that for us.
The waiter then comes out and asks us what we want to do about it… as if we didn’t just spend $55 and ask for what we ordered. The whole thing made it feel like complaining—even politely—is somehow not allowed here.
We kept the chicken, got extra hot sauce on the side (which defeats the point), and tried to move on. The Portuguese rice was hard, which didn’t help. On the bright side, the rest of the food actually tasted good.
Bottom line: flavors are solid, but the attitude and service recovery need serious work. If you’re going to offer spice levels, don’t act shocked when someone chooses violence.

Big shout out to Mia! She’s one of the managers at the Reston location and she was really helpful. I called to place a pickup order for a small get together I was hosting. She made helpful suggestions on what sauces were popular and the portion sizes that would best feed my group size. Mia was awesome and she earned this positive review! Also, the food was delish. 🙂
