The few times that we’ve been here everything has been excellent. All the lobster dishes of course are amazing and delicious. We recommend getting here early if you’re coming for lunch because they fill up fast. Our waiter Allen took good care of us and he did an excellent job. He was always ready to help us and see what else we needed. Thank you so much for an excellent meal.

Came here Tuesday for dinner, party of 4 with a Corgi so we ate in the terrace area. Everything we had was delicious and perfectly executed. The surf & turf Tuesday special was excellent with a large succulent lobster tail. The jumbo scallops & jumbo shrimps over couscous was a masterpiece. My grouper over risotto & asparagus was so good, risotto cooked perfectly. The crab cakes were on point, better than most. The clam chowder was creamy & rich, full of goodness. The Greek salad was perfect with a nice touch of potato salad. The mini French baguettes were crunchy & soft inside. We ordered desserts togo. Portions were more than adequate & pricing were very reasonable for fresh seafood executed perfectly. Our servers were friendly & nice, even to our Corgi. Definitely 2 thumbs up for Lazy Lobster.

My wife & I enjoyed an excellent dinner at the Lazy Lobster. I ordered the Lobster Thermidor and my wife ordered the Scallops Breanne that came as a 3 course special. We shared the Coconut Shrimp appetizer and the Key Lime Pie dessert. All the food was absolutely outstanding. Our server, Mike, made our night very relaxing and enjoyable. If you are looking for a nice meal while on Longboat Key, The Lazy Lobster is the place.

Thisnis a nice place with fantastic service and a great menu. Vegetarians and vegans can make special requests and they will deliver. Waitstaff keeps drinks full. Salads are great as is the grouper and risotto.

Twin Canadian Tails with potatoes and beans was good for 39, great flavor and cooked perfect. The sticky ribs had great flavor with the grits. Skip the flounder unless they cook it differently, mushy. 3 people were 100 without drinks.

One of favorite places on Longboat Key. Last visit we stopped in for dinner without a reservation around 7:00. There was a large private party but we were able to sit and eat at the bar. Nice friendly atmosphere with excellent food!

First time visiting and we will definitely be back. John, our waiter, was very attentive and professional.Food was exceptional, compliments to the chef. The Broiled Atlantic Cod was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist. Coconut shrimp on salad was tasty and plentiful. The lobster bisque was scrumptious and the grilled grouper sandwich was also plentiful and delicious.Would definitely recommend stopping in for a great bite to eat!

Lazy Lobster was a true hidden gem! We have been to the island a million times & have missed this place. Not anymore! The host was the kindest. The waiter had wonderful recommendations (shrimp Sophia) and the “meaty” lobster bisque was to die for! One of the owners (Michael) was so charming. We loved the old school way he checked on every table to make sure everything was good. Best key lime pie on the island too! #classact #deliciousfood

We went to Lazy Lobster last night for dinner. It’s in a small strip mall on the main drag of Longboat Key. The restaurant has a small bar area and indoor dining, but the patio is where it’s at. It’s secluded and doesn’t even feel like it’s on the street. We waited in the bar with cocktails for a table on the patio. Just because you make reservations you’re not guaranteed a patio table. My husband had a Kentucky Bourbon cocktail and I had the blood orange margarita with salt around the rim. His drink was fantastic, mine was lacking the blood orange flavor as you can see by the color of the drink. Our server was Reina, and she was friendly and engaging and made good suggestions. I was between two entrées and was happy she suggested the lobster dish. We shared the fried clam strips as a starter. They were so light and crispy but still moist, yummy. I loved how they were served with a yummy tartar sauce and in a paper sleeve.
Hubby had the potato crusted grouper and I had to go with a lobster dish because, well, we were at Lazy Lobster after all. I went with an old school dish, the lobster thermidor. So delish! Both of our dishes were delicious. The vegetable we chose was brussels sprouts, but I didn’t like them as they were not roasted to a nice caramelization even though I requested them to be well done and charred. I left them on my plate. One of the owners was so hands-on while we were there, clearing plates, making sure everybody was satisfied and saying hello. I really like that. I would recommend Lazy Lobster for sure. Be patient and wait for the patio, though. It only took about 30 minutes to be seated outside. Make reservations, too.
I took away a point for the blood orange margarita and the brussels sprouts I didn’t eat.

Server Brianna did not explain the menu (early/regular). She seemed rather casual no sense of urgency. While other were hustling she just strolled around at a snails pace. After ordering wine and bring it to us, she just disappeared for about 10 minutes. Finally came back, we ordered and food was brought to the table by others. Didn’t see her again until she brought the check. Then she was eager to take care of us. Food was great, service not so much. We will be back because we really like this place.
