Why did it feel like I bit into a bone? Grossed out. If your fries weren’t overly salted on top of this, I might consider coming back. Instead, I’ll stick with Chick-fil-A, Checkers, and Guthries, at least for a year while Slim Chickens is on probation.

I rarely rate fast food places. But today I experienced something that I’ve never experienced before at one. This is only the second time I have ever had slims at this location and it has been great both times. I walked into the store to order and there was an employee. Her name with Helen. I have never been greeted with such a welcoming, kind, and positive attitude in a place like this before. Helen answered every single question with detail and a smile on her face. She helped me out with the app and showed me how to work it. She was constantly walking around and picking up trash, offering to take peoples trays that were done with their food, and checking to see if any customer needed any help. Whoever owns, runs, or manages this place needs to give Helen a promotion and raise immediately. She is the type of worker that you need any at every single place. There is not much like her. I loved my experience today and will never forget how Helen treated me. She immediately brought me in as a part of the Slims family. Thank you Mrs Helen for this experience. Slims just earned a lifetime customer because of her.

Now I understand why the drive-thru line is always so long! I am from out of town and appreciate this place for the great food and being open later than most places around. Their potato salad, fries, and of course, CHICKEN is a 10/10!!! The potato salad is REALLY good. Sauces are excellent. Mac and cheese is not good… soupy and generic but not worth taking a star away. Fried pickles were way too salty for me but cut really thin and perfect! I’ve also had a salad, but the cucumbers were nasty. My only main complaint is the long waiting, but it’s onlt because so many people like it – not Slim’s fault!!

After working all day I was starving and stopped and ordered a $16 hungry meal with GRILLED tenders and when I got home and opened my food to finally be able to sit down and eat I open the box only to find cold undercooked and chicken. The ends were a shimmery pink like they were left sitting out raw and started to dry out and turn rubbery. As you can see in the pics if they never touched a grill.

2025/08 update- service was fast & friendly- food was hot. Korean BBQ was better than Honey BBQ. Service was slow, food arrived room temperature. Has to be poor management, they were busy so there should be no reason food wasn’t fresh. Worth a second try. Love to try it fresh.

Ignore the hype and save yourself a trip. This Slim Chickens was an absolute disappointment. There was so much grease that we ended up not eating all of the food. The chicken was stringy and tough. The breading on the outside tasted good and maybe if it had been different pieces of chicken it might have been better. We split a five piece strip meal. I tried chicken from two different pieces and they were the same. The mushrooms where your standard frozen in deep fried mushrooms but the breading fell off of them because they were soggy from the grease.
Also, there were employees out on the floor. I thought they might be checking on customers but that was not the case. There were two employees that came out just to visit with one person. From the (somewhat loud) conversation it sounds like they were just friends.

TL;DR: Decent chicken tenders, a variety of dipping sauces, and mason jar desserts make this a worthwhile stop for lunch.
We ordered, got our food and ate in 15 minutes. I’m a fast eater, but that’s impressively fast service. And to top it off, my fries were fresh.
Great chicken tenders. I split some with my wife and they are awesome. The batter is thin and just crispy enough and the sauces you can pair with it.
We also had a chicken sandwich, which was essentially two chicken tenders on a tasty bun. Unless you crave the bun, stick with tenders.
The sauces vary from mild to hit and are color coded. Unfortunately Korean BBQ is listed as hot and I doubt you could feel that heat in a snowstorm (although it was still tasty). The rest of my party enjoyed cayenne ranch and honey bbq.
Although I didn’t try it, I was told repeatedly the toast is deliciously coated in some garlic butter.

We love their food, what little we’ve tried. We got hooked on one dish and we’ve been repeat order-ers. Nice, clean dining room with mostly courteous staff. The others just seemed to be hating life that particular day, I won’t judge, I have those too… Love it here, we’ll be back!

I LOVE me some Slim Chicken’s. Every time I have been to this Jonesboro location, it has been GREAT. I usually get the Cayene Ranch chicken sandwich. Yumm, but you can’t go wrong with the strip baskets either!
