We had a hankering for some Orange Chicken, but wanted something different from the 500 take out restaurants in the city. We decided on YaYas. The first thing I noticed was how jam packed it was, which is a good sign. Surprisingly, there was no wait to get seated (tho, I think we did get the last table available. Sorry, group behind us). Our waitress was excellent. Our sodas never went less than half full. Our beer (her cider) came out quickly. We had the calamari as an appetizer, which was delicious! Really crispy, and the sauce was to die for. It wasn’t a super large portion, but it worked out perfectly, because we had the orange chicken, and the portion was huge. And, I’m being perfectly truthful here, it was literally the best orange chicken I’ve ever had.
The atmosphere was great. Very festive and colorful. A few too many hipsters eating there, but that’s not really the restaurant’s fault.
This is the same group that owns MPM Tiki Bar, which is also amazing!
10/10, will definitely be back.

Outstanding menu of sushi, noodle and rice dishes with a nice drink menu to go with. Fun atmosphere that invites you to share an upscale lunch or weekend dinner with friends. Service was average, food was a bit disappointing because I could taste the flavor of blowtorch on my YaYa Roll and Delicious Roll. Thai Ceviche appetizer was very good. Prices were high but that’s standard for sushi places these days.

Absolutely delicious and energetic spot for a fun date night! We enjoyed our panang curry , kao soi & sushi rolls. Yummy cocktails, too. Everyone was kind & attentive, bartenders were especially friendly when we had a drink while we waited for a table. Pretty busy for a Thursday, I’m sure it gets to be a long wait on weekends!

Great atmosphere with the holiday decor and welcoming vibe. Unfortunately, the food and service didn’t quite match the ambiance. The edamame took about 25 minutes to arrive at the table and 10 minutes later came our main entrees. The green curry was very good. However, the tuna mango roll looked like it was made by a 5 year old. The mango chunks were large and unripe, one of the pieces barely had any filler in it. Overall, I’d stick with the thai food and prepare for a wait.

Needed a quick bite after a long day. Even though it’s in a big plaza, YaYa’s is cleverly quirky and cute inside. Love the atmosphere! Online I had seen photos of birdcage seating at the bar which are no longer there BUT they had little foot bars on the barstools which is great especially if you’re petite!
Was a little frustrated with service and a lady who was being brash & vulgar but hoping it was just an off day because other reviews don’t reflect the same experience. The food itself was SO GOOD. Kept it simple with a California Roll and the Coconut Soup.
Will try this place again because…wow…I could drink that soup straight from a cup!

The best authentic Thai street food and the best quality sushi and sashimi—everything is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cocktails are also the best in terms of creativity, well-balanced, and perfect to pair with the food. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, making it an amazing spot whether it’s date night or you’re hanging out with a group of friends.

Fresh and beautifully plated sushi rolls topped with vibrant roe and edible flowers — every bite was a burst of flavor and beauty.
The White Lady cocktail ~ a floral dream with an ice sphere and petals inside. Almost too pretty to sip (almost!).
And let’s not forget the spicy pork basil — bold, comforting, and the perfect savory contrast to all the elegance on the table.
On top of it all, the service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience even more memorable.
This spot isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. Highly recommend for Thai & Sushi lovers who appreciate aesthetics as much as taste.

When I am in Richmond, I try to make it here because I love their food! We ended up going on a Weds evening and it was jampacked like it was a Friday night! We had to wait 30 minutes before being seated and there were no seats at the bar. We did not mind waiting because the food is very good and the staff is very friendly! Once we were seated, our food came out very quickly as normal. Our waitress was super friendly, which I appreciated because they were jampacked. I would recommend a reservation even during the weekday.
