Despite having plenty of bad reviews, it wasn’t too bad. I ordered a spicy 3 piece meal, and 2 out of the 3 pieces were actually spicy. Disappointed that they didn’t have bottled water, but the young lady working the window was very nice and polite, I got my food in a decent time frame, and it was what I ordered for the most part. A ton better than some other Popeye’s I’ve been to. I’ll be back.
Ok, update as of 03/08/26. The young lady taking my order got seriously confused several times, even though it was a simple 3 piece spicy with red beans and rice combo, with a Dr Pepper. Got home, and after looking at the chicken breast, it looked way under cooked. I put it in the oven for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway. Figured it was done enough and started eating. Got to the breast and it was still partially raw. Won’t be back to this establishment, ever.

Visited the Bastrop in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. Went inside and ordered and was told they were short staffed, and could not eat inside. I said no problem, make my order to go and i will eat at table and clean up after myself and my wife. The unprofessional actions by the 2 young men horsing around and taking bad to customers really turned me off. I have tried many times to contact the District Manager’s phone (on reciept) just rings with no answers or no voice mail. My advice is if you want to spend $16.00 on chicken, go somewhere that appreciates your business. Management needs a lot of work to get this location to some sort of standards.

We went there last night and showed up like 5 minutes before closing. We didn’t realize that they were about to close due to the fact that we live in Austin and our Popeye stays open way later. The young man that waited on us was very polite. We wanted to eat there, he brought up that they were about to close. He was fine with us being there but we decided that we would just go out of courtesy. He was very patient with us because we changed our minds like two times. The store was very clean everybody that worked there was polite. I would definitely recommend this Popeyes.

Love Popeyes, but the Bastrop location always let’s us down. We try about every 6 months, but still disappointed. The containers were not full. You would think after spending $55, you would have better quality food. The red beans and rice was mostly liquid and rice, very little beans. Biscuits were hard and dense like a hockey puck. No amount of butter or honey could soften them. Chicken was dry.

I had to take some time to think about whether I wanted to write this. I wanted to excuse it even though the entire situation really confused me. When I walked into Popeyes, I asked for 3 spicy drumsticks. Is that a term not used any more? Why was it emphasized in such a rude tone that I didn’t want a combo? I understand that combos make more money, but I don’t understand why that would disappoint her to the extent that it did that I didn’t want a combo. Then, after I ordered, they said they didn’t have any spicy drumsticks left, so I asked for a refund. She wanted to force me to keep what she wanted me to eat. I got frustrated since I did not understand why I couldn’t get a refund for the food I didn’t want. Then, the guy in a different colored shirt, so I’m assuming manager/team lead, said that there was and that it would just take over 10 mins to heat up. I don’t eat fried food super often, so I waited for about 20 minutes to be told several times when I was getting my order that it was spicy. Am I mistaken that this chicken wasn’t spicy? I read they were supposed to have a kick, their spicy chicken sandwich is pretty spicy. Am I mistaken to expect the spicy chicken leg to be spicy too? (They typed it wrong on my receipt.) I took a while to post this since I can understand needing to work and how frustrating it can be to serve others; however, blatantly lying and teaming up to lie seems a bit overboard. There were 3 people who emphasized that it was spicy. The lady to took my order, the manager/lead, and another lady who handed me the food. Attached is a picture of what I got.

I can understand how hard it is to get workers today so I don’t mind that they had to shut down the drive-through. Had I not placed an order online and paid for it, I might have skipped lunch here. The inside was fairly busy with only one person working the counter, one frying chicken and the other getting the biscuits out. They were all three working as hard as they could. I stood under the sign that said “Mobile and online orders here” thinking that might speed things along. I saw the worker put an order together that looked like mine but she never acknowledged me. So, it sat on the tray for 9 minutes. I finally spoke up and asked if that was my order and gave her my name. As she was handing it to me, I asked if she could please replace the fries with hot ones. If I’m going to spend calories, it isn’t going to be on cold fries. She was not happy with my request but trashed the ones in my bag and since she had just dumped a fresh batch, put another serving in. Again, they were short handed so you just have to give a little grace for her not being welcoming or friendly. The food was excellent. The chicken was fresh and hot and crispy and the biscuit was fresh, too. A pretty good value for $6! I wish the app special would let you choose the 2 sides you want instead of forcing you to have mashed potatoes AND French fries! I haven’t been to a Popeyes in years but the food was delicious!

Very slow on taking order had to wait 5 minutes just for order to be taken. Then when finally got to the widow ten minutes later with one car in front of me. I had to wait another 8 minutes for the food and money to be taken. Plus they had no gravy available either. This was on 1/28/26 at 1206pm finally got out of drive through at 1228pm. Plus the lady taking the order did not speak clearly enough to understand her.

I don’t know if its just this specific Popeyes, but… why am I paying 50$ for a family tender meal… and the tenders look like baby carrots? Like… why? Why charge that much when the FOOD DOESNT MATCH THE PRICE! C’mon man, do better please. Its already hard enough out here.

Stop to grab lunch order 6 piece wing combo and I work 2 mins from them and my chicken was greasy and chicken was not hot and not crispy. It was soggy and like warm. This Popeyes has got to be the worst ever. Everytime I go it’s always something. No recite no thank and they don’t answer the phone when nobody was even there. Definitely have lost my business!

I waited for over 30 minutes to get my food. They had forgotten about my order and the service from a young man was horrible. I spent over 60.00 to get treated like this is unbelievable. Order a 12 piecemeal to get home and get 7 legs 3 wings and 2 thighs! Then try and call and there numberdorsnt get answered and then a dead tone after that. I ask for honey and Cajun sparkle and I get 3 of one and one of the other. Idk for. Tie and he tells me they are out!! The all of a sudden the other girl comes over and hands me more. The service was horrible I will be up there tomorrow to speak to a manager about this I live over 20 minutes away from the restaurant so will not be back tonight
