I’m not familiar with Persian food so I can’t speak much on taste, but this was a wonderful experience. Farid was wonderful and very helpful – highly recommend coming here! It is also next door to a Persian market, so you can pick up some specialty items there. I’m from Seattle, and it’s truly difficult to find reasonably priced/solid portions and exemplary service like this.
There’s a Persian market right next door, which is such a bonus for picking up all the Persian goodies. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. I had the tachin with a skewer of chicken barg kabob, while my family tried several of the kabobs. Every kabob was incredibly juicy and tender.
The tachin was outstanding—so much flavor packed into one dish—and it came with a fresh Shirazi salad that was absolutely delicious.
The meal began with a complimentary bread plate featuring goat cheese, olives, and assorted vegetables. The flatbread was incredibly soft, fluffy, and delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the Mirza Ghasemi, which had a perfectly balanced smoky eggplant flavor topped with fried onions, absolutely delicious with the bread. The trio tapas was another highlight: flavorful hummus, a well-made baba ghanoush, and a perfectly seasoned shallot yogurt, making it an ideal dip trio. The falafel was also very well prepared, crispy on the outside and tender inside.
For the main course, my child loved the bone-in Cornish hen Joje Kabob. The chicken was juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The Kabob Koobideh was succulent and paired beautifully with the fragrant saffron rice, and the tahdig was crisped to absolute perfection.
Dessert was truly out of this world. The kunafeh was one of the best I’ve ever had, paired wonderfully with saffron ice cream. The saffron ice cream itself deserves special praise, it was rich, creamy, delicately infused with saffron, and elevated by a drizzle of rose-flavored caramel sauce. To end the meal, the Turkish coffee was just perfect.
An outstanding experience from start to finish. I would 100% come back and highly recommend Persian Basket.
Another interesting find was the artwork, enjoyed how different it was from the generic restaurant decor that we are used to,
The smoked eggplant dish had such a rich and deep flavor, and every kebab we tried was delicious. To finish, the cardamom ice cream with honey was truly heavenly. With amazing food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service, this is definitely a place I’d love to come back to.
Farid, the general manager, along with the rest of the staff, is warm, friendly, and genuinely respectful. What really stands out is Farid’s personal attention—he makes a point of checking with customers to ensure the food is prepared exactly the way they like it, which shows true dedication to hospitality and customer satisfaction.
From the welcoming atmosphere to the outstanding food, Persian Basket Kitchen & Bar sets a high standard. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates authentic Persian food and excellent service.
