Authentic flavors and served fresh and hot.
Service was friendly, genuine and our tabletop was never empty.
We ordered Fried shrimp, soup dumplings, meatballs, Mongolian beef, Honey walnut shrimp and Chix fried rice. Every dish was Superb in taste and presentation.
We had a Tremendous dinner and Thank You.
Well, Asian Jewels didn’t mesh with my schedule, so I just said screw it and went to Manhattan to go to MoMA. I spent way more time there than expected and, with my flight time drawing closer, I realized I needed to get that dim sum I’d been craving for weeks, STAT.
Dim Sum Palace to the rescue! They were just around the corner from MoMA and on the way to the F train. The man who took my hurried order was polite and knowledgeable. Not even fifteen minutes later, I was on my way back to LGA with a fat bag of dim sum in tow.
With the exception of the pork buns (kinda mediocre, sorry), everything I had was fantastic. Their crystal shrimp dumplings, siu mai, and shrimp and sausage dumplings were all phenomenal and still tasted fresh by the time I cleared security. PSA: the shrimp, sausage, and chive dumplings will give you TERRIBLE breath, so be careful with what your plans are after you eat them lol. I owe the lady who sat next to me on my flight home an apology.
Worth it!!!
The service was good and efficient—nothing more, nothing less. The staff was attentive, and the food arrived quickly, which is always a plus. However, don’t expect anything beyond basic hospitality.
The restaurant itself is small but comfortable. While the space might feel a bit tight during busy hours, it doesn’t take away from the overall experience. The ambiance is simple, with a focus on the food rather than elaborate decor.
Overall, Dim Sum Palace is a solid choice for those looking to enjoy authentic dim sum and traditional Chinese flavors. The quality of the food, especially the teas, soups, and sauces, makes it worth a visit. If you’re in the mood for a quick yet flavorful meal, this spot is definitely recommended.
Pork crab soup dumplings were alright.
The pork siomai were a solid contender, delivering that classic savory flavor you expect and enjoy. However, the chicken feet were on another level entirely. Calling them “tasty” doesn’t quite do them justice – they were absolutely amazing. The preparation was spot on, resulting in a depth of flavor and a perfectly tender texture that left a lasting impression. If you’re a fan of this delicacy, or even just curious to try, DimSum Palace’s rendition is a must-try. I even ordered another order of the Chicken Feet for to go! 🙂
Beyond the exceptional chicken feet, the good service further enhanced the dining experience. It’s clear that they pays attention to both the quality of their food and the comfort of their patrons.
Overall, DimSum Palace offers a delightful experience, particularly if you appreciate well-executed dim sum. The amazing chicken feet alone are worth a visit, and coupled with the good service and pleasant ambiance, it’s a place I’d happily recommend and revisit.
Ambiance (4/5): We arrived at 11:20am on a rainy Saturday and we were seated immediately. The establishment is fairly small with only a few tables. Not sure if there’s an upstairs for additional dining.
Service (4/5): The service is decent as they checked in on us and the food was prepared and delivered fairly quickly. You order by marking their paper menu with the number of items you want. There are no rolling carts to choose from.
Food (3/5): Only half of their food was good. The price to the extremely small portions ultimately decreased my overall score. Several dishes would be a fraction of the price in Queens. The food bits were of lower quality (more tendons than meat, tough to chew, soup buns may have been frozen). We ordered 5 dishes for 2 people and were still hungry; the bill was approx $55 before tax. $8 for a pot of tea?!
From best to worst:
Roast pork rice roll – there was a healthy helping of roast pork in the rolls. The flavor was there and the meat was not dry.
Chicken Feet – the taste was spot on. There’s some peanuts used as filler to the dish!
Pork Soup dumpling – this was tasty but far from the best I’ve had. The broth was decent but the inside meat was congealed indicating that the meat could have been frozen but I’m not 100% certain
Chive pork dumpling – I liked it but it was biting to write home about. It could have used some more seasonings
Spare rib – this was practically inedible as the pieces were mostly tendons and impossible to chew. There taro chunks used as filler as well.
