I had such a delicious experience at Leña y Carbón in Passaic! We ordered the pollo a la brasa with French fries, salad, and chicha morada — and everything was absolutely amazing.
The chicken was perfectly seasoned, juicy inside, and crispy on the outside — full of flavor in every bite. The fries were fresh and crispy, the salad was fresh and well prepared, and the chicha morada was refreshing and tasted just like homemade.
The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was friendly and attentive. You can really taste the quality and authenticity in their food.
If you’re craving authentic Latin flavor, this is definitely the place to go in Passaic. We’ll absolutely be coming back!

I’ve been coming to Leña & Carbon since forever. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is really friendly. My favorite host is Lily, she is super nice and takes care of me every time I come in. Besides the food Is delicious And the menu has a lot of variety for both kids and adult adults. Don’t forget to try out their sour Maracuya. ️

Excellent spot! Went in on a lunch break. We only had an hour to use. They served us family style it was hot, fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Huge portions that were hearty and sharable. Loved the atmosphere and will definitely go back with my family soon!

Overall I had a great time and enjoyed the food with the family. There are a couple things that could have been better such as the leche de tigre. Don’t recommend it in this place. Leche de tigre was warm and the onions were diced not julienne. I also had the tallarines saltados con mariscos which was ok. Portions were great and pricing was on point. Jalea was on the dry side and did not come with enough salsa criolla. Servers were extremely nice and welcoming. Will definitely come back but not for the seafood.

The food was good, I can’t deny it. However, you have to be careful because the prices on the menu are different from what they charge on the receipt it feels like they’re trying to scam you. We made a complaint, but they gave us many excuses about why the price was wrong, saying they have two different menus. But that’s not my concern; it feels like they don’t care that most customers check the prices. If they want to increase the prices, that’s fine, but they should at least fix the menus. This is the second time this has happened at Lena y Carbón.
