We offers a diverse range of juicy seafood, including shrimp, oysters, blue crab, snow crab, crawfish, clams, mussels, Dungeness crab, and lobster. All of our seafood is sold according to weight. Once weighed, the crabs and other seafood will be mixed with the restaurant’s famous sauce and served in steam bags. Instead of the traditional methods of using a knife and fork, hands are applied directly. The restaurant will provide gloves, bibs, and other “tools” upon request. The finger-licking goodness of Mr. and The Tasty Crab seafood will leave a lingering flavorful taste in your mouth!

What a hidden gem! This place was crazy good! Never in a million years did I think I would get a EXCELLENT seafood boil in Bloomington Illinois but here we are! Perfect balance of heat and pronounced Cajun flavors and spices. Their egg in all the seasoning is my new favorite way to consume an egg. Will absolutely be back anytime time I’m close to town.
The service was also really awesome! Only a couple people working at the time. Both guys were super friendly. Helped walk me through the menu as a first timer.
Top to bottom one of my best dining experiences in a while. Prices were very fair as well! I treated myself a bit more than a normal lunch but right place to do it at!

I seen someone review this place on TikTok and figured I’d give it a try. Went for lunch and they had great lunch deals! I got the 1/2 lb snow crab and 1/2 lb black muscles with medium spice and all seasonings and it was phenomenal! So much flavoring, I ate all of it. For three people and two Mai Thais it was only $77. Definitely need to come back here sometime soon!

Despite its unassuming and inauspicious exterior, The Tasty Crab is an absolutely legit Cajun seafood establishment. You’re going to get messy, but you’re going to love every minute of it.
I went with the Create Your Own with shrimp and sausage. I opted for the Cajun seasoning extra hot. What arrived was very flavorful with a very nice kick. Portion size was bigger than I expected, so, sadly, I could not finish.
Service was very friendly and attentive. I feel like we arrived in the middle of the dinner rush, but we felt like our waiter handled everything well.

This place is so good and the best place in central Illinois to get a crab boil. Service is always very friendly and good. The selection is good, great weekly specials and fair prices. The juicy special seasoning is . We drive over an hour for this! So good

So, the food here is awesome. Don’t even hesitate to try it out. It was extremely clean and tidy. The service was immaculate and perfectly attentive. It’s obvious that this building was originally a Chinese restaurant; The decor hasn’t changed much. However, it was the best seafood I had in Illinois. I would gladly return next time I’m in the area.

This place has the best crab around, by far. Be sure to get the sauce with everything combined. You can pick your spice level. If Cajun isn’t your thing, you can always get plain crab with butter or garlic butter. Of course they also have shrimp and crawfish, but their crab is where it’s at. Comes with potatoes and corn… They boil in a bag and pour all the goodness out onto a plate for you.

This was A GREAT place and experience. The service was quick, they were a little quiet (I’m also just chatty) The food was amazing! Could use more seasoning but I got the Cajun with only Mild heat so idk. But I loved this, it’s messy, good, and a good price. It was pretty bare when we got here. My girls wanted crab legs and we try and avoid Red Lobster right now with inflation. We came here today and we loved it. My little oned want to come back for more crab legs. Cajun seasoning was a bit messy, but it was delicious. We also had calamari and crab cakes. Loved those too though i didn’t take a picture. Service is excellent. Kept coming to see if everything was good or if we need refills. Definitely coming back for affordable, tasty sea food.
