There was absolutely no reason to bring religion into this.
Response to the restaurant –
I had already contacted you guys first. My question is why would a Pakistani guy pose as an Indian guy and call his restaurant Indian. Isnt that a lie in itself?
The food was outstanding. We totally understand why there were clear plates. Very very tasty and very hot in temperature. It was clear it was freshly cooked. The service was fantastic also. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
Had veg biryani and like it a lot.
The rice was real basmati and not local thai rice. Portion was good as well.
Only ambiancewise there is scope for improvement.
If your idea of “ambiance” involves sitting in the literal street while a staff member screams in your ear, this is the place for you.
Calling this a “restaurant” is generous—it’s a shack. The open-air concept just means street dirt flies into your curry. The wildlife is also quite active, featuring lizards hanging out on the dining walls. As for the kitchen? Do yourself a favor and don’t look inside.
The food is below average, yet people claim it’s the “best Indian food” they’ve ever had. Either my tastebuds are broken, or those reviews were bought. Hard pass.
If you’re craving authentic Pakistani food while in Phuket, Masala Restaurant is the place to go! The food tastes just like home — rich flavors, perfect spice levels, and freshly cooked dishes that truly hit the spot. From biryani to karahi, every bite was full of flavor and satisfaction.
A big shoutout to Mohsin and Noor for their amazing hospitality — they truly make you feel at home with their warm service and friendly attitude. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and welcoming — a perfect place for families, couples, or friends.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for halal, flavorful, and authentic desi food in Phuket!
