Great place with a great view! I’ve heard they have really good burgers too. I decided to get the French toast just to switch it up. Cozy place though staff are very tentative and friendly.
The fresh made bread they have is really good too!
Cute little gift shop in the basement and things all around the cafe.
Food is really good and easy to get to from the freeway.
I would definitely recommend stopping in the menu has a lot to offer too!

Such a fun destination with great food. Massive downstairs gift store and hand made pies. Had the meatloaf dinner that had skin on mashed potatoes, two large slices of meatloaf with a bunch of brown gravy over it. The pie was great. Like the mixed berry more than the French silk. Our server (Avery?) was super fun and friendly. Worth the stop.

Great service! Great food. So happy when we went when we did, mid morning, bc by lunch time, it was packed with a line out the door. Had a table of 10. Everyone loved their meals and the shop downstairs was perfect for last minute gifts as we were passing through on our 5 hour drive back home.

Stopped in for breakfast on our way to the cities from Duluth. The food was really very good! Prices are normal for today’s market, meaning nothing is cheap, right. Our waitress was excellent! It’s nice little restaurant and I recommend you give it try.

Surprisingly great view from this highway restaurant. Food was also great. The smoked trout salad had lots of fish and the cranberry walnut dinner role was tasty. The mixed berry pie did not disappoint!!

The classic breakfast was fine and bacon was cooked well done as requested.

Service was a bit lacking but tolerable.

Took a work client here for lunch. My first time here. It is one of her favorite places. I have seen this place driving by several times and wanted to check it out. The huge lumberjack out front is just too fun! I absolutely loved the atmosphere and country feel. They have these birch bark log separators in between rooms that is just gorgeous. The comfort food menu was another great thing. Something for everyone. Now aside from all the great stuff I know although there were family’s here with small children, I would not personally bring my kids here only because the price of most of the dishes are in a nice way put, a little up there. I get it i do, it is a staple visitor spot for travelers and definitely has tourists spot written all over it. The restaurant even has a full restaurant size shop down stairs with all kinds of very cute merchandise and Minnesota memorabilia. Definitely wouldn’t mind going back and checking out the shop a bit more when I have more time and money. So I guess that about sums it up, all good stuff except for the somewhat high priced dishes. I’ll post pictures of the menu so you can see for yourself.

Such a fun restaurant to go to!

My kids especially love that lunch and dinner kids meals come with a free scoop of ice cream.

We all enjoy going downstairs to look through all the Minnesota/up north themed gift shop items. My daughter loves to point out everything moved or different since our last time there

The apple wild rice pancakes are the most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had! The homemade bread and jam is also very yummy. They have a delicious menu with a great variety. Their house made trout smoked salad with homemade pickled red onions is also quite good.

My husband says the coffee is very good, better than many other places. My kids say “the food is really good”.

We stopped here on our way North to Duluth. The pie is top notch. I dare say better than Betty’s and Rustic Inn. The apple wild rice pancakes are made from scratch, not a box mix like most other places. The pork schnitzel is hand breaded and tender. The gravy was homemade and flavorful. The hashbrowns are hand shredded. The attention to scratch cooking is apparent and appreciated! They have a good menu of breakfast (Available all day) and sandwich options. I really don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything here. They make their own jams for their toast and roast their coffee in-house! Their service is excellent. It’s right off the I35 Barnum exit, so you don’t have to drive 5 miles or more to get there. Look for the giant Lumberjack statue! Looking forward to a 3rd visit. 🙂

Just stopped in 5 PM Thursday. One other couple at a booth order just a simple bacon cheeseburger, fries, vanilla shake. Price came out saturated loaded with just oil cheeseburger had been left on there for 20 minutes like a hockey puck vanilla shake was awesome. Knocked it out of the park $25 for food. I didn’t eat although I got a shake for 25.

The entire breakfast experience today was wonderful! The service was exemplary and the food was hot (when it needed to be) and delicious. I had the Meat Lovers Skillet with Cinnamon French Toast – DELECTABLE.
