Ordered a Texarcana burger and their Cajun turkey sandwich, both with waffle fries as a substitute for regular French fries .
Food was warm, well seasoned a for take it it was very well cooked even upon arriving home .
Texarcana burger is prepared to your preference of doneness . Crispy onions haystacks in between bacon sharp cheddar and a bbq sauce that is not too sweet and ties everything together .
Turkey sandwich is Cajun style and this was my favorite of the two . Combination of juicy turkey breast thinly sliced with a Cajun run not overpowering. Bacon chipotle and melted cheddar add to the sandwich a beautiful flavor profile. Adding the waffle fries as a substitute gives this a crunchy and over the top great sandwich.
I would definitely try this again .
Only challenge is the parking . Restaurant is located on a main road and parking you need to rely on street parking which can be tricky depending on the time of day .
Once you place a take out order the pickup time is very quick which is an extra bonus for the Great Dane !
I tried the Beer-Braised Salmon at The Great Dane in Madison, and it blew me away. The salmon was perfectly seared — tender and full of flavor — and the Peck’s Pilsner cream sauce tied everything together beautifully. The leeks and baby spinach added a fresh, earthy touch, and the garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and rich, the perfect side to soak up that amazing sauce.
For only $20, it felt like a fine-dining meal at a hometown favorite. You can really taste the quality ingredients and the care that goes into each dish. Paired with one of their craft beers, it’s easily one of the best meals you can get in Madison for the price.
If you go to The Great Dane, order the Beer-Braised Salmon — you won’t regret it.
I-5 IPA and Peck’s Pilsne
The boneless wings are incredibly crunchy and sooo good! We tried Caribbean jerk and Korean BBQ (sauce on side). Korean BBQ- best flavors!
Cheese curds. Wow that sauce was delish!
Southwest Burger- grilled perfectly medium, so much flavor in the burger alone- toppings were added bonus.
House salad with ranch- the best salad toppings and the ranch is excellent.
Go!! Try if!!!
So we had lunch here around 11am ish and I had their Baja Fish Tacos. I added an extra 1 for a 3 pack and what a great call I made! They were fresh and delicious! I passed on the beans and some of the rice but the salsas they provided were straight fire!
Time for the shuttle after lunch but whoops, too crowded! So we did a cab and that was fine.
Our server was friendly and did forget a few things but they were crowded but y’all still get a 5 star rating.
We’d def come back next time we are in the Capitol city.
