Flat Creek is an absolute must-visit! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, small-town welcome that instantly makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely seem to enjoy making your dining experience a great one.
The portions are huge—seriously, come hungry or be ready to take some home! Whether you’re digging into their famous fried catfish, juicy burgers, or hearty comfort food classics, you’re guaranteed to leave full and satisfied.
What really stands out is how affordable everything is, especially considering the quality and size of the meals. It’s rare to find a place that delivers on flavor, service, and value all at once, but Flat Creek nails it.
And the rustic, cozy atmosphere? Perfectly fitting for a laid-back meal with family or friends. It has that charming, down-home feel that makes you want to sit and stay a while.
Highly recommend Flat Creek for anyone passing through Bolivar—or even if you’re a local. This spot is well worth the trip!
We have enjoyed dining at Flat Creek before, so when we received a mailer offering a free meal for two to attend a fire safety presentation, we went. We assumed there would be a sales pitch and planned to politely decline and enjoy dinner. The invitation specifically said it was not a sales presentation and no purchase was necessary. That was completely misleading.
The presentation was nothing but a scare tactic sales pitch for a fire alarm system. The presenter refused to provide a company name, used constant fear-based language, and aggressively pushed everyone to schedule a home visit, even suggesting coming to our house at 9 PM.
When I refused to give my home address, his demeanor changed instantly. He became hostile and told me he hoped my house didn’t catch on fire. At that point it stopped feeling like marketing and started feeling threatening.
This raised serious concerns about personal safety and privacy. No legitimate company should behave like this or pressure people to give out their home information to an unidentified salesperson.
Flat Creek should seriously reconsider allowing vendors like this to operate inside their restaurant. This was deceptive, aggressive, and made customers feel unsafe.
The portions are HUGE. We didn’t realize or would have considered sharing since we had several hours before we got home.
We had tue potato skins for the appetizer. They were crispy, cheesey loaded with bacon, and still plenty of potato. (We did not need this because of how big the meals were, lol)
Our party had the tenderloin dinner, tenderloin sandwich, and garlic crusted prime rib. The tenderloins were thick, crispy, seasoned well, and giant, just as a tenderloin should be. The prime rib was seasoned so well. It was like butter and just melted in your mouth.
For sides we had green beans; these were also seasoned perfect with plenty of bacon and pepper, Mac and cheese; not a group favorite lacked flavor and wasn’t what we expected out of mac and cheese, mashed potatoes; personally this is how I like my mashed potatoes, chunky with some of the skin, and French fries; they were crispy, hot and decent fry. Two of the dinners came with rolls, also not a fan of them. it just didn’t match the standard of the rest of their food.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we will be back to try other menu items.
I WILL NEVER BE BACK
Whom ever was cooking the fish thank you it was Outstanding the restaurant was very clean and the Atmosphere was inviting… Bravo you’ve stepped up your game and I appreciate that. Thank you for giving us a great place to eat in Bolivar before there were none.
My wife ordered wings online as the centerpiece of our holiday meal. They accepted the order, took payment, and said nothing – no call, no text, no update. She drove 20+ minutes across town on December 31st to pick it up, only to be casually told at the counter: “Oh, we’re out of wings.”
Out. Of. Wings. On one of the busiest takeout nights of the year.
This isn’t a simple mistake – it’s lazy, dishonest, and downright disrespectful. You had multiple opportunities to notify us before she wasted time, gas, and excitement on a holiday night. Instead, you waited until she was standing there to shrug and say “sorry.” That isn’t customer service; that’s contempt.
We ended up with nothing to eat on New Year’s Eve because Flat Creek can’t be bothered to manage inventory, communicate, or treat paying customers like human beings.
Do yourself a favor and order literally anywhere else. Flat Creek clearly doesn’t want or deserve your business.
