The Kung Pao tofu was great! It was a bit saucy and slightly salty for my taste, but the tofu was crispy and delicious, especially with the broccoli. The Pad Thai was different from what I expected—the flat wide noodles were good, but the chicken tasted dry and not fresh and the sauce was a bit too sour. I’d try another menu item in the future, just not the Pad Thai. The Kung Pao tofu is definitely recommended!

My boyfriend and I ordered pad thai and fried rice with pineapple. The servings are good for 2 people per one order. Worth the money. Good service. Great food. We will highly recommend this place.

Great little place for Asian Food. We had the red lentil Dahl and the Beef chop sure. Both dishes were to our satisfaction. The servings could be a bit bigger? The meals were prepared promptly. Good parking along Yates.

Taste pretty good, definitely street food style. Seems like a self-served restaurant. The food decoration was not the best but the taste was decent! Lots of meat. Recommend to try once. For regular visit? Not really because the 2 different dishes I ordered taste so similar, so I feel like their is no need to come back again.

I first visited 15 years ago and ordered the broccoli beef noodles. Incredibly tender beef with delicious noodles and fresh and complex flavors. Visited again just today and it tasted just how I remembered 15 years ago.
Lots of self serve aspects that makes it fun and emphasizes that the restaurant is purely focused on their delicious, fresh and reasonably priced Asian street food.

I first discovered Foo working across the street back in 2011. It quickly became my #1 lunch location. On this latest visit I ordered the same thing as my first – Pork Belly. It is served simply on rice with green beans and chili, but omg, it is so amazing. Pork Belly was cooked perfectly. If you are squeamish with fat or don’t like flavour, I’d recommend something else. We also ordered the pulled pork and pineapple fried rice that always has enough for the next day which was equally delicious. I don’t know why, but adding hot sauce to this dish makes it amazing. Honestly, try it with hot sauce! If you are bringing parents or less than adventurous eaters, go with the caramel chicken-it will get them hooked. Thanks again Foo – my partner always gets excited when I say, “How about Foo tonight?”

I feel like this place is an easy staple for UVic students. Nice, casual atmosphere, no nonsense tasty Asian cuisine, and healthy for the most part too. Lots of fresh vege, tasty rice, and an assortment of South Asian, East Asian, vegetarian or meat dishes. It’s actually hard to choose a dish because they all look delicious, they are all around $18 each give or take. Meal was prepared fast, nice to get some patio seating if you can, also get the miso cookie! Delicious.

Awesome local joint, killer food.
Reccommend the Caramel Chicken or the Pork & Pineapple Fried Rice. Note: The restaurant is quite small, and a lot of their business is takeaway -so that’s why I gave the atmosphere a 4/5 (it’s not a traditional dining room), they’ve got around 10-12 seats.

First time dining here. Good portion size, lots of meat, I bought sweet Glazed Chicken. The downside is that meat wasn’t fresh and it was dry. If you’re picky about meat like me, you know that cooked chicken taste changes dramatically the next day, and even more pronounced the day after.
Does it mean it’s bad for any of us? Not at all.
Does it mean I enjoy it? Not at all 🙂
I don’t think 18$ was worth it
