Going with 3 stars today.

We come here once a year when we’re in town visiting family. I also grew up in Iowa eating Maid-Rites.

Today, my Super Cheese Rite was served not hot and not really warm. The meat was slightly cool. It definitely didn’t melt my cheese.

I ate it because it wasn’t horrible. I did mention it later to staff in a constructive manner.

We also got a slice of cherry pie to go and plan to enjoy that later tonight.

I spent 29.00 on a tenderloin that had an off taste, brocolli cheese soup that had mushy broke down noodles from being overcooked. 4.50 of this order was for 6 pieces of fried Zucchini that had no flavor. My husband had a maidrite with no toppings thst he ordered, the french fries were perfect. The waiter was a male that handed my husband coffee that he held by the brim with his hand craddling over the top. I did not complain but I should have. I waied tables in a full service restaurant for over 20 years, this was deplorable. So much for Sunday dinner.

Absolutely awesome! It’s a Quincy classic. Service was great. Food was great. And even the boss man Mr. Caiden Geise was a gem! Absolutely would recommend. Cheddar bites were delightful!

We’re from the East Coast, and we wanted to experience a Maid-Rite as part of our Great River Road road trip. We chose this location because it’s one of the more old-school locations.

For the uninitiated, the original sandwich comes with mustard, onion, and pickle. We got one sandwich with no condiments and one with just mustard and pickle. I thought the mustard overshadowed the seasonings in the beef. Make sure you get a fork–a lot of the meat will spill out of the bun. And save room for pie–we had coconut cream and it was really good.

The place is old but clean. The server at the counter was great–very patient with all my questions. This place does not accept credit cards, and there is no tipping.

What an awesome experience it is every time I eat at the Maid-Rite. Today I tried their new Pepper Jack cheese curds and they were amazing! Great service with friendly faces every time!

I really enjoyed the chocolate milk shake. Very popular local restaurant with locals. The cheese rite is unique and you eat it with a fork because the paddy is in pieces.

Flooring looks like Wendy’s in the 80s lol, no tipping allowed, cash only, but food is great from an out-of-towner perspective! Loose meat was a new experience for me, but I liked it with cheese, mustard, pickles, and ketchup. My son loved the pulled pork! Worth a stop especially if working on Route 66 nostalgia.

This was the most disgusting food I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even eat the sandwich. It was just tasteless slop. The onion rings are something you can get frozen in a bag at the grocery stores. They destroyed the concept of strawberry pie by some type of gelatinous jelly on an overcooked crust!! I’m just shocked anyone would eat this!

I had to share my university memories of a Maid-Rite with my Hubs.
He liked it so much that when we’re in the area he wants to return. He talked about his milkshake for weeks & still thinks it was top notch.

I remember my Dad telling me stories about this place when he was younger and so glad we finally were able to eat there. It was everything he talked about and more. Took me back in time! Added mayo and cheese to my maid rite and it was perfect!
