Brickwood is what happens when elevated dining meets small-town charm inside a jaw-dropping, multimillion-dollar setting. From the moment you pull into the spacious private parking lot and walk up to the beautifully lit entrance, you know you’re in for something special. Inside, the space is warm, refined, and elegant—more like a luxury resort or high-end Chicago steakhouse than a neighborhood restaurant.
We were welcomed by Cindy, the Matré D / Front of House, who made us feel instantly at home and even let us choose our dining area. I selected the formal dining room—sophisticated yet relaxed, perfect for a proper dining experience.
To start:
I had the Creamy Chicken Soup of the Day ($6), which was smooth, comforting, and perfect for a winter evening—lighter in texture but full of flavor.
The Truffle Fries ($8) were crispy and indulgent, tossed with truffle oil, herbs, and shaved parmesan, served with a rich garlic aioli.
The Double-Fried Chicken Wings (Sweet Heat + Buffalo) were outstanding—crispy, juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor. Sous Chef Trevor even sent out a fresh side of buffalo as requested sauce that delivered just the right kick.
Entrées:
The Hawaiian Ribeye (14 oz – $45) is marinated for five days and it shows—tender, juicy, and deeply flavorful. Mine came slightly more medium than medium-rare, but it was still excellent, served with buttery mashed potatoes.
The Maryland-Style Crab Cakes ($28) were loaded with lump crab, lightly crisped on the outside and moist inside, with classic Maryland seasoning. I even received three instead of two—a lovely surprise.
Dessert & drinks:
The chef treated us to a Coconut Crème Brûlée that was absolutely decadent—silky, coconut-infused custard under a perfectly caramelized sugar top.
The bartender also sent a strawberry-rosemary mocktail that was bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced.
We also grabbed two pizzas to go ($13 each). The Marina Margherita was simple, fresh, and perfectly executed with roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
Service here is exceptional.
Sierra, our server, was warm, knowledgeable, and a joy. Sous Chef Trevor personally came out to speak with us about the food and upcoming menu changes. Bridgette, the Event Manager, stopped by to share details about events and new offerings (and she’s a hugger too!),
and Cindy made us feel welcomed from start to finish.
The space itself is breathtaking.
This is a true destination restaurant with resort-level design, multiple dining areas, and a beautiful terrace—something you’d expect in a major city, not tucked inside a community in Lancaster. It’s a $20 million dollar destination!
Final word:
Brickwood delivers on food, service, and atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want an elevated night out, this place is absolutely worth the trip.
Highly recommended — I will definitely be back.
To Owner: Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
We’ve now been to The Brickwood twice, and both times were excellent. Sunday, after church, we went around 1:00pm and had no issues with wait times. I ordered the steak with roasted Brussels sprouts and broccolini—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. My husband had the steak with fries and was just as pleased. The steaks themselves were tender, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered.
The atmosphere is a touch upscale but still comfortable, and our waitress was friendly and attentive. With all the effort and investment put into this new spot, it’s refreshing to finally have a restaurant in Lancaster that feels like a step up. For us, Brickwood has been two-for-two excellent, and we’ll definitely be back.
I ordered that bone-in pork chop and when I say tender, I mean tender. Juicy too! Like, I cut into it and it was just sitting there looking back at me like, “Yeah, you about to enjoy this.” And that shaved Brussels salad? I don’t even be hyped about salad like that, but this one? It was filling, the dressing was crazy good, everything came together like a perfect mixtape.
Now the drinks, Blue Moon Belgian White and a Mezcalita. Fire. Straight fire. They did their job.
Overall, this place is a win. Food, drinks, service, all top tier. I’ll be back, and when I do, I’m bringing people with me like, “Y’all gotta try this!”
Chef Alex provides a serious level of passion and craft behind the menu. With a creative weekly specials menu that never disappoints. He has a gift for balancing flavors; even the shaved Brussels sprouts salad is a standout.
We love sitting at the bar and chatting with our favorite bartenders Eric and AB who are always ready to kick up that cocktail experience or the dining room with our sweet Mica. The entire Brickwood team are top notch.
Whether you’re looking for a high-end date night or just a great cocktail at sunset, this is the spot. Five stars all the way, and a huge shoutout to Chef Alex and all the Brickwood staff for an unforgettable experience.
The entire staff was great from the greeters to the servers to the bar tender and it makes a difference with the experience.
For the food, I had a baked salmon on cedar plank with roasted brussels sprouts which was good but definitely had better. Pops wanted the bone in pork chop but sadly they were out of it. Instead he chose the braised short ribs with home made grits and he definitely loved it. The meat was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. Highly recommended. Mom had the crabcakes and they were just as good.
We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu or at least have drinks at the bar and watch some sports.
HOWEVER, please turn the lights down at night! It was SO bright in the restaurant. Turning the can lights in the ceiling and adding some candles to the tables would make the atmosphere 5 stars. Please, please! This gorgeous restaurant is begging for better lighting ambiance!
