Food is pretty great, no complaints. The drinks are pretty good also.
It would be nice if something said anywhere that the kitchen closes at 9:30 or 10 depending on the day so you don’t think you can get food until the midnight close.. Disappointed to come back late and think they’re the only restaurant still open on the island.

This long established eatery and social spot is well regarded with locals and visitors alike. Good food, and a great place to have a pint or libation with any number of friends, large or small, or by yourself. Fun to sit outside when the weather allows, and quaint being inside. A true gem of a place to go.

Absolutely lovely experience! Fun and lively bar with quaint charm and delicious food. We had the wings of fire which were cooked to perfection. I decided on the Cajun Buffalo burger which was delicious! Also good NA beer from Holy Mountain. Great portions, great atmosphere. We will be back. A great find, in my opinion. Traveling with my sisters on our way back into Seattle and happened to pick this place on a whim. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great. Loved reading about the history here. Food was good too. I got the taco salad with chicken. Worth a visit!

It was a waste of money. Tiny, mediocre sandwich on cheap bread with soggy fries. Service was painfully slow and the staff didn’t care.
The beer mug is barely 8 ounces and feels like a total rip-off.
Worst part? The crowd here is bad. Like no civic sense. No parking manners either! The whole vibe is red flag.
Food is subpar, prices are insane, and the dine in experience makes it even worse. Save your money and go anywhere else comfortable.

Four of us stopped by here for a “final final” while watching the closing innings of the Mariners 5th game against Detroit. It was relatively quiet upon our arrival. We were seated promptly and our order taken straightaway. The Manhattans were delicious and the draft beer ice cold. It became busier and busier as the game continued into extra innings and other events in the city wrapped up. The atmosphere was perfect for enjoying drinks and watching sports as camaraderie with other patrons was plentiful.
We did not order food nor did we order a second drink as service slowed with the increasing crowd.
Overall, great experience watching the Mariners clinch the ALCS!!

It’s been many years since I used to frequent lunch or happy hour at Roanoke Inn and was looking forward to returning to meet a couple friends coming from Seattle for lunch. I’m not sure if things have gone downhill or my standards have gone up, but it was a bit of a disappointment.
On the bright side, the server was personable (though rushed) and everything seemed clean. We were seated promptly on the lovely outdoor patio and server brought water and a soft drink for my friend right away. The server was honest about what he didn’t know and didn’t try to guess about whether certain foods might have flour or MSG. The server refreshed my friends soda and our waters without us needing to ask.
The downsides: The biggest downside for me is the quality/taste of the food, but i was also disappointed that there are no non-alcoholic beverage options, other than sugary soft drinks. They don’t have any dry style sodas, seltzers, or mocktails.
The menu doesn’t have anything gluten free on it and doesn’t have easy ways to modify. My friend who can’t eat glutens and MSG is usually able to figure out something fairly easily, even at places that don’t cater to food allergies. This menu was tough. She eventually ordered a burrito without the tortilla and planned to share fries with another friend, but the fries came with a coating that seemed likely flour-based and tasted like they probably had MSG, too.
My French dip was super bland- just a thin slice of what seemed to be a reheated Steak-um strip, a little bit of grilled onion and some cheese. The toasted bun was fine, but nothing special. The consommé was a lukewarm brown liquid with no yumminess to it. I’m pretty sure it had MSG. The salad (which was kindly removed from tab) was composed of limp, browning iceberg lettuce and a smattering of finely chopped, tasteless, pink tomato bits. Nothing about the meal was fresh or interesting.
The place seemed understaffed with possibly only 2 people there to host, serve, bartend, and maybe cook. Our server seemed on the ball, but stretched thin and maybe a little bit over it. He would disappear for up to 20 minutes between contacts (maybe working kitchen or bar) and never asked how our food was after serving. When he was clearing table, i mentioned the salads were sad and we had decided not to eat them, he hesitated and then agreed to remove from tab.
Our bill, for 3 okay lunches, 2 cokes, and a beer came to about $94, before tip. Not outrageous for a restaurant in an easy to reach spot and pleasant spot to catch up with friends. I doubt I would return for food or if i wasn’t planning to have a drink, but maybe it’s fun in evening.

For being the only bar on Mercer Island, it’s not a bad option. The food slightly overpriced but fine, the atmosphere is lively and the service is good for the most part. I’ve been there three times and only once was the waitress a bit unhelpful. I asked for the price of two different whiskey drinks to which the waitress responded “I dunno” and a young waiter walking behind her said “who cares? This is Mercer island”. I guess that’s what you get from privileged Gen Z kids who haven’t payed their way through life yet lol . Other than that, the bartender is awesome and Brett was very helpful. It’s worth going to if you live on the island and want a bar setting.
