I really wanted a restaurant that served salsa and chips and Margarita Island has great salsa and great chips. They’re there on the table and they taste amazing. I had the chihuahua tacos and the cheese shells were just overpowering. My son had the surf and turf and he seemed to enjoy it. My wife had the shrimp and they were okay. However, in my opinion there are better places for better tacos. They do have a little outside area but it’s overlooking a parking lot. So for atmosphere and Florida I gave them pretty low marks. The staff was great though and if I ever get a craving for chips and salsa again we may be back.

Stopped in for lunch. They have I-Pad like menus which are very nice with vibrant pictures! Our server, Brittney was fantastic and as cute as can be! I had the Chicken Rice Bowl. It was spectacular and a generous amount. Chips and salsa, always tasty!

Had KK as our server and she was great. Had wonderful recommendations and gave great service. The food was delicious and ordered a large margarita and it was definitely large!

* Prices are reasonable and portions are ample!
* Atmosphere is fun and festive!
* Restaurant is generally very busy and also very clean.
* Centrally located at the Merritt Square Mall on State Road 520.
* After eating the DELICIOUS (see photo) corn appetizer, was pretty much full and took the main course home in entirety!

We’ve been coming here for years, and this last visit just reminded us why we keep coming back.
Krystle was absolutely fantastic. Attentive without hovering, quick on everything, and genuinely kind. You can tell when someone actually cares about doing a good job, and she does. She handled everything smoothly, kept our drinks filled, made sure the food came out right, and checked in at the perfect times.
The food was great as always, but great service is what makes the whole experience. Krystle made it feel easy and enjoyable from start to finish.
We’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend asking for her.

A great place to dine within the Mall. My family pulled in on a Cruise ship and I drove from Ocala to have lunch near Cape Canaveral with them. As they were in port 12-7pm, after lunch we shopped the mall, visited, it was the best time ever and lunch was Fantastic! Thank you Margarita Island for the enjoyable Mexican food and great Cocktails!

Nice atmosphere and good selection of Mexican food. KK was our server and she was fantastic. Great service and she kept our drinks full. Food tasted great from our order and are fresh Guacamole and chips were excellent. The prices are a little higher. But I guess that’s due to the high mall rent they have to pay.

Daniela has been serving my family for a long time now—at least a year—and she consistently goes above and beyond. Her service is exceptional, but what truly sets her apart is her heart.
My two-year-old daughter, Alice, has formed a real connection with her. Alice will literally call out Daniela’s name while she’s eating because she wants a hug or just to see her, and Daniela always comes over—no matter how busy she is. She is happy, optimistic, extremely sweet, and so loving. Even when she’s juggling bartending and tables, she never lets stress show, especially around my daughter, and that means more than she probably realizes.
The entire staff here is amazing. Valentina deserves a special mention as well—she’s just like Daniela, and my daughter adores her too. Honestly, every server and every person we’ve encountered has been warm, welcoming, and kind. This place truly feels like our home away from home, and it’s such a comforting atmosphere for families.
I never hesitate to bring my daughter here, and the food is phenomenal every single time. If you’re looking for incredible service, genuine people, and a place that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in—this is it. Highly, highly recommend.
