EXCELLENT BBQ!!! That IS NOT a Chain restaurant, which I love!

Really cool atmosphere w plenty of seating at table or bar.
Great Food!!!
I have tried their TUEKEY CLUB and PULLED PORK SANDWICHE and both were outstanding! Super tasty and they don’t skimp! EXCELLENT FRIED OKRA, POTATO SALAD AND FRIES! My boyfriend got the Special Sandwich with PULLED PORK, SAUSAGE and ONION & PEPPERS..
He loved it as well.
Highly recommend trying this place!

Worst ribs I’ve ever had. They were so dry. They had them sitting and threw them on the chargrill for like 10 minutes. They were charred on the ends. Poorly trimmed. When I got home to eat they weren’t even hot. Flavor was ok. Sauce was a little more vinegary. I ordered two pounds of the pork and couldn’t even eat half a pound between two people. Red skin potato salad was good. Baked beans were probably the best thing out my dinner. $50 and didn’t get to enjoy or feel full. I wanted to try somewhere new instead of big box “Sonny’s”

Now service. Wasn’t horrible but not as hospitable as a small establishment would feel. The two waitresses greeted me, offered assistance and thanked me on the way out. They were very friendly. The bar tender wasn’t attentive. She could have paid me out while I was waiting instead talking to other employees. Which would have been fine if I didn’t have to pay after getting the food bagged up which added time to my experience.

There was also an issue with the weight of the ribs. After figuring out how many ribs I would need I agreed to two pounds. As the cook weighed them I noticed the scale said 1.76 then he quickly tossed the ribs on the grill. I wanted to say something but being that the bar tender who was helping me out had her back to me most the time I felt the time to say something awkwardly passed. I just want to mention it as it was part of my experience.

Although this wasn’t a horrible experience just an unsatisfying one I would not come back. It’s just what you get when you try a different place and get disappointed. I’m sure there are days where it’s a great time and good food but for me it wasn’t and I can’t chance wasting the money again.

Went on a Monday. It wasn’t crowded. Service was attentive.
Had the chicken and rib combo with collard greens and corn on the cob sides. It was all very good. The ribs were juicy and you didn’t need to put extra sauce on it. The collard greens were great also. I had the sangria and it was also good. Will definitely return.

Been eating here since 1986! Great food & service, your doing something right if you’ve been around for 40 years! Location kills me since I live in Indiana (lol) but I’m here often during the winter months!!

We’ve passed by this place a lot and decided to stop in and try it. I am SO GLAD we did!! Omg, as SOON as we walked in, we were instantly greeted and made to feel at home! The lady that helped us with our ordering was SO sweet, genuinely, and every person that worked there had a smile on their face, it was a GREAT experience, especially for our first time!!! The food is EXCELLENT! Tender meat, the wings were crispy, I will be recommending this place to everyone that will listen!! Every interaction felt so genuine and that’s EXTREMELY hard to find nowadays. Thank you guys SO MUCH for the amazing food and hospitality, see you again soon!!

Been coming here since I was a child in the 90s I love it. It’s not exactly smoked bbq, it’s pit smoked over open flame and smoke. May not be fall off the bone but it’s delicious (technically in bbq that’s over done). This place is where it’s at. Also the interior hasn’t changed since I was a child, so very nostalgic and 90s feeling. Family combos are worth checking out

Had a wonderful Bbq meal. We started with the corn fritter appetizer. It came with a nice raspberry jam to dip.
The BBQ brisket platter was tender and flavorful. Fried okra, collard greens, creamy coleslaw, and steak fries accompanied our meals.Cailey recommended the various sauces: Sweet, Vinegar, Spicy, and Signature. All were tasty .
She came by three times during the meal to check on us and refill our drinks.
Moist wipe was offered to clean our hands.
We were full but couldn’t resist taking one slice of their signature Peanut Butter pie home.

Around since 1985, this restaurant knows it’s BBQ. They train their servers well.

Pulled pork is always a good choice here. The meat is tender and the sauce is tasty. The portions are huge. The hamburger is also a favorite with that smokey char grilled flavor. Amber is our favorite waitress she is attentive, courteous, fun to talk to and always has a smile on her face. Michael runs the pit, hes shy, but very focused on his perfectly smoked meats. Priced right for generous portions and $2 beers!

Unfortunately hit and miss.
We’ve eaten here probably 4 times, and until this past time the food was delicious. It’s been almost a year since last time we ate here, and tonight we are very disappointed.

The pulled pork sandwich was alright. The pork was good, but I feel like they changed the buns they use. The sandwich was falling apart the moment i tried to pick it up.
The sauce isn’t my style, but my Fiancee likes it.
The worst part was the mushrooms we got were soggy, and tasted like they’d been put in the frier more than once — completely inedible and we had to throw them out.

The fries ruled, which contributes to the rating. But as I saw someone else on here say, it’s a sad state of affairs when the fries are the best part of a BBQ meal.

I’m leaving this at three stars, because I’m still a believer; this place has great potential. If my next visit is as good as my first few, I will update this rating accordingly.
