Food here is so good, the chilaquiles are my favorite! Can’t leave here without trying the apricot cheese flakey, or the pancakes. The staff here is so nice as well! I love this place.

A cozy brunch spot with a hearty and eclectic menu. The portabella burger was rich in umami and super juicy, while the side of Thai-braised kale added a flavorful and savory twist. Comforting and satisfying food all around.

Five-Star Review for Lucky Platter

If you’re ever in the area and looking for a spot that hits every note just right—Lucky Platter is it! We sampled a variety of items from the menu, and not a single bite disappointed. The omelettes were perfectly cooked, packed with fresh ingredients and flavor. Their French toast? Fluffy, golden, and unforgettable. But the real star? That signature apricot cheese flaky—buttery, delicate, and bursting with unique flavor. A must-try!

The cornbread also deserves a shoutout—moist, warm, and just the right hint of sweetness. Every dish came out fresh and vibrant. While they don’t market themselves as farm-to-table, it definitely gave off those clean, quality vibes.

What sets Lucky Platter apart even more is what’s on the other side of the space—a selection of THC and CBD-infused drinks that are creative, flavorful, and a great complement to the experience.

Top it all off with phenomenal staff who were friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Lunch Matter is an unexpected gem—and absolutely worth the visit. Don’t sleep on this spot!

Wonderful selections on the menu! From THC drinks to pimpkin soup!

Unfortunately, service wasn’t good. We always needed to ask coffee refill. The check arrived before we finished, the place was 1/3 available, no line, and we did not spend a lot of time there.

Fine restaurant for a place with “ketchup-on-the-table”.

I love breakfast .during our visit to the hospital in evanston we came across this gem of a restaurant . The lucky platter we were greated by our server Creighton. Who was very pleasant. Knowledgeable friendly helpful . We had the French toast omlete and potatoes. My wife had eggs bacon and pancakes. Everything was delicious . I will be Here again soon

I had the Caribbean Pumpkin Soup, absolutely delicious. What annoyed me was that I asked for a piece of bread with the soup, and they charged me $2.29 for one slice of wheat bread. When I inquired with the cashier, he got the manager, who (kindly) explained that they have to charge that amount because the bread is baked in-house. That’s fine, but $1 would be more appropriate for ONE slice of simply decent wheat bread (or better yet, serve bread with gourmet soup, not saltines!). Also, the “bowl” of soup is a little small for a “bowl.” I didn’t argue with him about the bread because life is too short.

This is a causal spot with a super funky atmosphere. The walls are filled with pretty bad art that is really fun to look at. The food is great and the service is fine.

I’ve been coming to this establishment for about 20 years and the menu is mostly the same. I highly recommend the large house salad with toasted sesame dressing and grilled chicken breast. This is one of my all time favorite salads. We also ordered the fried green tomatoes, which were good. They also provide some cornbread on the table.

Our waiter was slightly inattentive; we ended up asked a busboy and another waiter for a couple forgotten things.

Overall the food is pretty good and the service is fine. I’ll absolutely come back for a quick, casual meal when I’m back in this area.

This wonderful restaurant was amazing for me and my daughter! At brunch, my daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes, while I got the California burger. The service was outstanding too. It was a little bit hard to find parking, but the great food made up for the small trouble all the way. My daughter and I will be back and we are thinking about bringing Abuela too next time!

Very popular local restaurant to consider when in Evanston, we were seated quickly and the service was great.
Besides this; the food was typical of an American breakfast staple with good options and quick service but the prices do add up quickly which is something that could be considered, especially for just breakfast.
The atmosphere was family friendly and was definetly accessible to CTA subway and local NU area!
