We love coming here for their fresh, hot food and great root beer. But the last two visits were not so good. The chicken strips, fries, and tater tots were hot and fresh, but the burgers seemed like they were pre-cooked and left in a warming tray. Not hot, fresh or juicy at all. I’m a little hesitant to try them again.

Fantastic food and service! I’m driving to see my kids in Alaska and the staff were super nice when I was telling them about my family. They seem to have a great relationship with the community since this tall chubby blonde woman came into the restaurant to talk to the one waitress about her leaving her husband. While I think we can all agree a woman should never leave her husband I appreciate the staff listened to this odd lady who clearly needs her husband to step up. On my most recent visit to this locally owned A & W Restaurant, we ordered our food through a phone at the table which was really cool, and our shakes we’re brought out to us really quickly even with how busy they we’re. Our food was delicious, and service was great.

What a great spot. This is the A&W of my childhood. Legit drive in experience, GREAT service, and really well prepared food. The Root Beer is legit, and served in a frosted mug… I really can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed my lunch. I’ll go out of my way to get lunch there again soon.

They serve the great burgers that are known as the A and W. We have been going to this one for many years and have not changed the food. Still the great tasting burgers.
Also try the chicken strips, they are great too.
Try the onion rings they are great and fixed just right
My wife loves the bacon cheese burger with fries.
I like the papa burger with fries. The food was delicious and awesome.
Went here today and we both got the #5 Combo with Rootbeer. It was delicious and good. We both enjoyed the food and company.
Now I know why my wife likes the bacon cheese burger.
Great food and a good place to eat and relax.
My wife likes #5, I like #1 and our grandson likes #7. We all have Root Beer.

A step back in time! Sit at your table, look at the menu, and when you’re ready to order, just pick up the phone, push the button, and tell them what you’d like!
We had root beer served in frosty mugs, cheeseburgers, and french fries. The only thing missing on the menu was the A&W family. They had a papa burger, but the rest of the family was missing.
Our waitress was very nice and helpful!
When we saw it, we just knew we had to stop! We’re so glad we did!

Came to Sweet Home with my husband as he was purchasing an item from someone off Facebook Marketplace. We decided to eat there for dinner. I’ve only been to Sweet Home once or twice but didn’t walk around or eat, just drove through. This trip since we decided to eat I did some looking and narrowed it down to two places, Point Restaurant and A&W.
I’d never ate at either. Once we got there we discussed both options and decided on Point as they had more options and the food looked amazing! When we got there they were busy. We went inside and looked at the seating and it didn’t appear there was room and they seemed slammed. We decided to go to A&W but we will defintely be back to try Point Resturant.
When we pulled up to A&W there was plenty of seating and parking. We walked in and were greeted by an associate who explained how the ordering works. Classic Rock to Motown was playing over the speakers and each booth has a black telephone. When you’re ready to order you press a button and an associate picks up and takes your order. I thought that was cool. It was my first time eating at A&W and my husband was about 8 years old the last time he ate there at the same location. So it was bitter sweet for us to create a new memory together.
After looking over the order we both got the Double Mushroom Onion Melt combo added bacon and instead of a soft drink we both added an A&W float for .99 each. The food was amazing! And both fries and burger were cooked at the perfect temperature. Sometimes when you eat all your fries by the time you get to your burger it’s either lukewarm or cold. This was not the case. We sat and enjoyed our food conversing between bites and once finished my husband ordered a coney dog, it looked so good but I had to refrain myself lol.
Overall great experience and I’m glad we decided to eat at the Sweet Home A&W. I see there is one in Florence and we will defintely be trying that location as well. If you haven’t been you must! You won’t be disappointed the food is amazing and the staff is beyond friendly and welcoming. Take a date, the family, or just yourself. You’re stomach will thank you.
