The Family Restaurants used to be all over Milwaukee and this is one of the remaining originals and for good reason. The food here is quality and good and not hard on your debit card. It’s a place where locals and seniors congregate for breakfast, lunch and/or supper and always receive a wholesome, warm welcome from the servers, some who have worked here for years. I haven’t had a bad breakfast here. There fried chicken is very good. If you’re not a snob and just want a good cooked meal and dine in a comfortable, family atmosphere, here’s the place to do it.

We arrived with a group of 12 after 9 PM (within an hour of closing). Our server had already clocked out for the night. I’m sure at the end of a busy day, not one of those workers was ecstatic to see us. Without even a grumble Dena, our server, approached us with a big smile on her face and welcomed us warmly. she knew the cook was trying to wrap things up for the night, but kindly told us we should try to order quickly so that we could all get what we wanted. She paid special attention to everyone at that table, served us with incredible efficiency and skill, and even had time to chat with each one of us in the process. What she did not know is that we had all spent a long and heart wrenching day with a precious family member at the nearby hospital. We were sad and tired, but needed to eat. By the end of our meal she had lifted our spirits with her joy and warmth. She told us we had a beautiful family and we all got hugs when we left! I hope she will now know how her kindness impacted all of us. We are truly grateful there are people like her in the world. ❤️

We had a great experience at Zebb’s. My mom and I stopped in to grab a late dinner. We both had breakfast for dinner. We love having that option. The food was very good at a reasonable price.. The service was friendly, fast and efficient. The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable diner vibe. I highly recommended. 5 thumbs up

I’d never been to Zebb’s but am SO glad I attended an event with a small group of women. All I have to say is WOW! Food was EXCELLENT, we had several different things but it was all tasty and beautifully arranged on the plate. The cheese cake is a MUST HAVE. The service was better and faster than any fine dining downtown restaurant where the servers often appear as though THEY are doing you the favor!!
Family friendly and locally owned. Please visit this treasure. You will be glad you did!!

My family and I came here because Omega closed early at 8:30 pm. I suggested Zebbs because I haven’t eaten here in years. My two kids ordered burger and fries(which they loved) even though the kids’ menu burger was huge. My oldest son finished it off . My friend ordered a veggie omelet with hashbrowns(he liked it) but the cooks forgot to make his food and he had to wait maybe like twenty minutes. Me I ordered a meat lover’s skillet with pancakes. The pancakes were delicious. I told the waiter that I didn’t eat pork, and he asked if I wanted sandwich turkey meat, I said no. He explained to me how it would look/taste then suggested Rotisserie turkey. Now, the issue I had the skillet didn’t look like a skillet, the turkey was a huge portion size that was not cut up into strips. (I had to cut it myself), some parts of the turkey was hard,(see picture), the food was dry, some of the potatoes were hard, it was really good don’t get me wrong but it could have been better. The waiter was friendly and tried to help. The waiter gave us the people behind us receipt when leaving. Not sure how that happened but I guess. Would I come back probably not.

The food, the team and the vibe this restaurant gives is hands down the best family owned restaurant in Milwaukee area. The chicken pot pie is hands down my favorite item on the menu. not only is the food amazing, the staff is the most welcoming along with a true budget friendly pricing. A must stop to enjoy local food and amazing people.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice. I really like the ceiling lights. There were four of us who came here around 7: 00-8 p.m. You can get breakfast anytime. The booths are tight for two people and coats on a side. My bil ordered a hot chocolate and it had a hair in it. I ordered a burger without a bun. I was asked how I liked it cooked and I said medium rare. It was very small, and came burnt on one side and on a bun. I asked if the french fries had a coating on them and was told no, that they were steak fries. When I got them they were coated french fries otherwise known as Brew fries which I can’t eat. My boyfriend ordered liver and onions and he liked his meal. My sister-in-law ordered an omelette and her toast did not come out till at least 15 minutes later and then had to wait for jelly. My brother-in-law ordered a rap and after a bit of complaining and telling them to just put it in a to go box that came out 20 minutes after everybody else’s orders did. The manager just sat at the front desk knowing that we were all upset and did not come over or take care of the situation. Our waitress commented that the head cook was preparing items for the next day Sunday morning and that the cooks that were in the kitchen were not trained yet. After a lot of complaining they finally gave my bil a $15 credit. Soooo disappointing. Plenty of parking and handicapped accessible and a very large menu. Which if they can’t get their act together is just going to kill their business.

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 15 years. I’m never disappointed and it has become sort of a second home kitchen. They were closed for remodeling after a flood but have reopened. I’m very glad they are back. It’s nothing high tech or modern which is why I enjoy it. It’s the same place it’s always been. Don’t discount familiarity. It has its place in everybody’s path through life.

My last review, I gave Zeb’s 5 stars. Been patronizing this restaurant for over eight years. I guess their policy now is to charge for condiments. My wife and I both ordered hamburgers off their menu and now they want to charge for your lettuce, tomato onion and Mayo. I’ve never been charged for condiments before. If you’re gonna charge extra for condiments, you need to put it on your menu. And what’s with this courtesy charge? I hope you enjoyed the extra money for the condiments and the courtesy charge? It’s the last you’ll get from me… It’s too bad because it has been our go to restaurant for a long time.

My family went here for Christmas Eve dinner, our waitress, I hope I’m saying the right name, Amber, was wonderful and polite and very quick with the food. She was an enjoyable experience and was very easy to talk to! Again I hope I have the right name because she does deserve all the praise that I can give her. Because we have had many bad experiences for Holiday dinners, our whole family really appreciates a great restaurant with great staff!
