Classic dependable Perkins. I know the wider franchise has run into hard times and even busier locations have shut down but the Hastings spot is going strong. Friendly staff and competitive pricing. Great for kids!

This Perkins in Hastings is the best I’ve ever seen. The inside is modern !! The chocolate chip pancakes are AMAZING. If you come here, you have to get the chocolate chip pancakes, they always make them so good for us. The service is pretty good just don’t come here starving.

Haven’t eaten at Perkins for a long time. We came for breakfast. The omelette, hashbrowns and pancakes were all good. Not sure if its worth the price increase though.

My daughters co-worker recommended this particular Perkins saying it was the best so we decided to check it out last weekend. The restaurant was moderately busy. We were seated in a booth and our waitress came for our drink orders dropping off menus. About 15 minutes go by and she came back with our coffee and to take our orders. I ordered steak medium rare and eggs with pancakes, and my daughter ordered a cream cheese filled pastry bake. While waiting, several tables turned around us and I was noticing tables that came in after us were receiving their food. Took several attempts to flag down waitress to ask about our food and she said it would be out in a minute. We waited an hour for our food. The waitress left the ticket at the same time as the food. My steak was overcooked to medium well at least and was the only hot item on my plate. My daughter’s food was also cold. Several more attempts to flag waitress down to have food warmed up. She said they were short workers and were dealing with a new computer system that they were not trained for. She offered each of us a free desert which was nice. I did not like that she did not voluntarily come and check to see how our food was. we decided to take the deserts with us and when my daughter got home and opened hers, it was not the one she requested.. Get better Perkins. Train your employees to new policies you introduce. Don’t have your night cook try to cook in a Sunday morning rush. Our waitress I believe would have been fantastic if she wasn’t dealing with 15 tables. When we were leaving, there were 2 teenage servers whispering to each other in our way to get out the door looking like they did not know what to do. Will not return to this Perkins. Very disappointing.

The place wasn’t that busy and the help was not that helpful, tables left dirty for sometime and a dollop of whip topping on floor had been walked through. Then, the food:eggs cold, pancakes almost burned (we’d asked for lightly done),eggs to be’over easy was’over hard. Bacon,water, and syrup was good….oh well,
Will not go back. At checkout they didn’t ask how experience was.

10/26/23 the food was terrible. I ordered online for the second time for a delivery. Took over one hour to be delivered. Missing food again for the second time, didn’t get my jumbo shrimp that I paid for. Paid for extra sautéed mushrooms and got dry overcooked mushrooms. I asked for medium well steak and instead got hard as a rock steak that had bad after taste like it was been sitting out for too long. Forget about asking or calling them about the refund. Never saw my money from last time I ordered for take out and had missing food. It’s like they do it on purpose to steal money from the costumers so they can save money for their company. Terrible business and terrible costumer service.

A busy Sunday, 11/16. Our waitress, TAYNIA V. was too busy to take my complete order before she went on to my husband. She hurried away to enter the order. When the order came back, it was quickly left and she again hurried away leaving no time for conversation. I had requested CRISP bacon, it was limp and pancakes were wet and doughy in the middle. Eggs were ordered over easy and were hard. I need sugar free syrup but did not have time to request it, so I ate pancakes and eggs layered. Bacon placed aside waiting for TAYNIA to notice.
I was 1/2 finished with the cakes and eggs when she came by. She asked how things were and I told her the situation. The bacon was picked up and dropped on the plate. She left.
Enter HEATHER, manager who inquired about the problem. I again told the story. She left with no comment. Apparently HEATHER spoke with TAYNIA. Her next trip out she stood behind my husband and showed a very sarcastic and mean appearing smile, then left. Taynia returned to take the dishes and inquired if we needed anything else. I asked for my crisp bacon. We waited for our check, which never came.
We went to the counter to request our check and I requested to speak to HEATHER.
She came out and we walked away for privacy. I said that I would like to tell the entire story. She had spoken to TAYNIA and GREG, kitchen manager, and was comping the check. She informed me that TAYNIA told her I was racist! I said “racist?”. Heather said Taynia is “mixed”. I had not noticed.
We have been frequent customers at Hastings, MN Perkins since 2005.
The entire experience was terrible. We informed HEATHER that we won’t return!
