Had a wonderful brunch date with my husband! The brunette female whom served us (Apologies for not catching her name) was super sweet and attentive. Everything was super fresh and mostly locally sourced to my knowledge. Hubby had “juevos rancheros”and I had a delectable protein scramble with: mushrooms, sweet potato, spinach and chicken chorizo. Everything tasted divine, including the coffee from Airship and loose leaf earl Grey. The ambiance was cozy and calm with lots of plants and art hanging around. Meals are about as much as you would spend at a fast food restaurant; However, drinks and sides are a bit extra. Completely worth it though in my opinion. The sourdough was fresh and yummy. Don’t miss out on the pancakes! We tried a short stack of banana chocolate chip. It was served with a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top and a side of vanilla bean whipped cream as well as syrup. Truthfully, we devoured them with out syrup because they were that yummy!! Don’t miss out on this little hidden gem. There is construction going on currently, but the little trek is worth it!!

Prelude is a charming breakfast place with loads of ambiance! Pothos and other house plants are all over the place and there is a small outside deck. They offer very unique and delicious breakfast items. I had an omelet with roasted tomatoes, goat cheese, and spinach, wonderful! Even the toast was made with thick crusted, homemade bread! The coffee here is particularly good too!

Here’s a revised version that emphasizes the overpriced nature and lack of value:

I strongly advise against dining at Prelude. While they have a charming, hippy vibe, the experience simply isn’t worth the price. Restaurants like First Watch and Home Grown offer equally delicious food without the hefty bill.
We waited 30 minutes just to place our order with a table of four, and our meals arrived at staggered times, which was frustrating. The service was disappointing; one waiter seemed more focused on his laptop at the bar than on attending to customers.
While some dishes were enjoyable, others fell flat and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, everything comes with an extra charge. We requested additional syrup for our pancakes and were shocked to find it cost $3.75 for a tiny side. This pattern of upcharges is frustrating and really takes away from the overall experience.
If you’re looking for quality food sourced locally, be prepared to pay more—but that shouldn’t come at the expense of good service and consistent quality. Save your money; there are much better options out there that provide both great food and a welcoming atmosphere.

So prepare for a wait and to drop some serious coins. For breakfast/brunch items, this place is expensive because they charge extra for everything. I spent more than $80 for two people and we didn’t order anything more than we would have when we go to brunch…I ordered a breakfast skillet, side of gravy and a Bloody Mary. My son had pancakes with a side of sausage and a hot chocolate. When we got our food it looked great, with the exception of the gravy. I’m sure it may be good fresh but what they brought me was spreadable like paste…like they had scraped the absolute bottom of the bowl and brought me the slop that was left over. You serve that to people??Anyway, the atmosphere is a rustic, inviting, modern vibe. Our server seated us and then never came back until we asked for our checks. Try them if you’d like but I probably won’t be back…personal preference only.

Such a gem!
Prelude Breakfast Bar was a little tricky to find with the parking lot construction, but totally worth it. The food was amazing — the coffee cake pancakes were unreal (seriously, don’t skip those), and every pancake in the flight was delicious. My eggs were cooked perfectly, toast was next-level, and even the potatoes were tasty. Everyone at the table loved their meal. Can’t wait to go back!

This is my favorite place for breakfast…seriously! We were in Fayetteville to drop our son off at college and went twice because it was so good. We shared the flight of pancakes and every flavor we tried was amazing, but the “this is sin” flavor was our top choice. We also shared an omelet full of meats and cheeses and so flavorful! My mouth is watering just writing this y’all! My husband had huevos rancheros and said it was really fresh and light. The restaurant is super cute and chill and the food came out really fast even though they were pretty busy. Our servers both days were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back anytime we visit the area!

Prelude Breakfast Bar is an absolute gem.
The owner grew up on a farm and still hand-picks much of the fruit they use, you can taste the love, creativity, and quality in every bite. She even designed their mini pancake flights herself, and let me tell you… they are hands down the best pancake flights on earth. Don’t believe me? Go test the theory.
The staff is always warm, welcoming, and on point. I even brought a friend who doesn’t like pancakes, and now she talks about Prelude nonstop. That should tell you everything.
We love this place. The food, the atmosphere, the people, it’s all top-tier. If you want incredible breakfast while supporting an amazing local business, this is the spot. Highly recommend.

Th food was good, the atmosphere was fine, but the service was so-so. The build your own omelet and the eggs Benedict were delicious! The servers were friendly enough and took orders and brought food just fine, but did not check with us as drinks emptied and as time passed. If they had been really busy, I would have understood the inattention. But, perhaps there is another reason. This is a place that adds a 22% tip surcharge to the bill, and you may add more if you want. So servers are already guaranteed a tip regardless of their service. The explanation on the table said the surcharge was to raise the minimum the restaurant was paying to a more livable standard, which I also understand. However, it would behoove the owners to pay the better hourly rate they are talking about, and let customers decide the size of their own tips.

Had a yummy sister brunch today (protein scramble, pancakes and an avocado toast) and loved the menu, atmosphere and service.
I appreciated the detailed 22% gratuity explanation (printed for every table) and think the staff and kitchen staff definitely deserved it
Hoping to be back
